The volumes where we were standing (Front left, not far from the main speakers) were fine. Not perfect, but certainly not shit enough to ruin my evening. Although I really didn't intend to, I spent a fair majority of the night in the gods arena.
Tall Paul played some really cheesy house to start the festivities which I was loving. 
Played the Eric Prydz remix of Call On Me which was just brilliant His set was much better than last years pile of tripe.
I wasn't really interested in seeing John 00 Fleming, as although everyone really rates him, I just don't see all the fuss. I didn't particularly like his ASOT set and wasn't to keen on any of his other live sets that i've downloaded. This was the first time i've seen him though and I was actually quite impressed. It was pretty banging and just what was needed really to get things under way for the rest of the night.
I didn't have any interest in seeing MIKE do a (Not so) Live PA again so ventured off to get some food and also see Lee Coombs in the Air tent. Wasn't there for too long but really enjoyed what I saw.
Back to the Gods tent for Gabriel & Dresden who to my suprise were banging it out well hard. I guess they didn't really have a choice being on shortly after J00F and right before Mauro Picotto. But this was the best set i've ever heard from them. Playing hard really suits them as i'm not to keen on their more pansey trance side. Till Ya Drop went down very well
Been waiting about 2 years to see Mauro Picotto now having regretfully missed a few chances in the past. He didn't fail to impress, although mixing a little dodgy at times. Heard lot's of tracks that i've wanted to hear live for so long, like Playing Footsie, Coldfunk, Pulser and playing the original of Blue Monday was so random Riccardo Ferri [Live] was even better as he banged out tracks like Codebreaker, Tao Tek, and a few more that i'm having trouble remembering for some reason.
Armin Van Buuren... hmmm. I can't believe I actually enjoyed a set from him. 
Doh! Communication, Cloudwalking, Synaesthesia, Orange Theme, First Strike, Blue Fear, Sincere. I really wanted to get out of the tent and go elsewhere but found myself not wanting to leave. Dam him.
Tiesto.. Absolute shit. wtf was that intro all about? If he was anymore up his own arse he'd be coming out his own mouth. Wanker. First hour of his set was shit, but I didn't care as I needed a rest by now anyway, so a few of us sat outside on the grass (something we couldn't do last year ) His last half hour was good tunewise and I enjoyed hearing his remix of Adagio again.
PvD was the really daddy of the night for me. First few transitions were a litte dodgy but I think that was just him getting used to the system, as after that his mixing was great for the rest. Excellent tunage, really really hard and fast, and he even seemed to be having a good time himself. 
I wondered how Ferry was gonna cope after PvD had just banged out some of the hardest tech-trance going at 148bpm for the last 2 hours. So he started with a classic.. Galaxia (Intro Mix) followed by Carte Blanche.. And fair play it worked. His set turned out to be a producers set which was a nice suprise. Heard countless classics from his discography like Gouryella, 1999 (Gouryella Mix), Exhale, Dance Valley Theme, Madagascar, Barbers Adagio, We Came, and lots more.
Finally ventured away from the Gods tent to go see Umek, another DJ i've wanted to see for over 2 years now. The enjoyment I got from this set was on par with PvD's. The guy is just fucking insane. I would love to know some tracks he played, especially the one about 3 from the end. Absolutley superb!
Couldn't be arsed anymore so just went and chilled in the Bedrock tent watching Danny Howells for the last bit of the night (err.. morning). He was excellent too. Quite a nice way to wind down after such a mad evening.
Overall verdict.. Fucking amazing. Pissed all over last years, and apart from Tiesto there wasn't a set I didn't enjoy. It was also good to see quite a nice turnout of TA's again. Absolutley shatpank!

i dont know if it was where we were standing, but the system wasnt that clean. just too much bass. maybe its ment to do that, but when pvd dropped duende (signum remix) i was havin kittens then the break hit and the dreamy chords were taken over by a huge bloody booming kickdrum that totally drowned the chords out. i was gutted. over all i think either the bass needed turning down, or the mids and highs turning up.
all in all it was mint but not worth the best par of �200
bedrock arena was a state, dodgy sound system, people mauled on the floor everywhere and was so hot and lacking in breathable air as the roof was so low. the tent also posessed colour changing properties as im sure it was black when i went in at 5pm but was white at like 11. sound systems were all pretty shit apart from the air arena but the tent was smaller, rounder and full (with charvers) which seemed to help.
whoever was on in bedrock when we got in was mint, nice low-key prog until someone worth watching was on.
joof was rather good, altho some of it was a bit mental for the time of nite imo.
mike live was the same as last year
g+d were surprisingly very good. despite the shit start they got going very well and kept the flow going, nirvana remix was totally amazing.
picotto was good, but we left for random adventures and food. the food was absolutely minging.
sasha + digweed were just impossible to see/tolerate due to state of bedrock tent which was a bit of a downer.
adam beyer was immense, good changes of pace in his set keeping things interesting, mixing was a bit weird at times tho.
armin was teh daddeh! was really impressed, generally great tune selection apart from yet another day urban train bootleg. communication 2004 was quality. white room was immense too!
tiesto was a bit meh, didnt stay for long, his intro was somewhat ott.
pvd sounded pretty cool, but i just couldn't be arsed with the music at all, wasn't up for dancing at 150bpm plus lol
zabiela was cool. bedrock arena was slightly more bareable by this time, some great turntabalism, petty only 1/4 of the tent was dancing the rest was other people were monged on the floor.
ferry was good, but i've seen him play all his own tunes twice already this year so wasn't really a unique experience
hybrid were pretty cool, a couple of the tunes were a bit too much like noise than breaks than i would have expected. the amount of charvers in air was rediculous.
umek were well cool, well impressed.
mistress barbera was decent although i was past caring at the time, new time new place got a mint reaction.
nice to see some of you again sy, chris, mikey, etc. top marks to j3f for winning the boat comp, the lake was ingenious. turner has a pic of sy/george's boat with the ta tape/bottle logo on his fone.
im fucking shattered and off 2 bed again soon methinks, walking back to stratford is certainly not recommended, you would have thought we'd learn after 2002

its a shame pvd and armin didt swap places. Not that it would have worked progression wise with pvd's faster tempo. Its just that I would have liked to have listened to Armins set in hindsight, sounds like i missed out from all the reviews.
But as it was armin clashed with Morillo and given how i found armin to be pretty standard when i saw him at air I decided to leave it.
Also i missed veracocha - carte blanche from ferry which annoyed me coz would have loved to hear it, but i was in air till gone 4am listening to freeland.
Its reasurring too to see that I wasnt the only one who found bedrock disapointing.
never mind tho, looks like everyone enjoyed it.

PVD was pretty good, but I was so damn knackered then. I had to take a 20 minute nap near the start of his set. I left 20 minutes through the Tiesto set - I didn't like the way it was going. But apparently the end was good so I wish I'd stayed...

Overall I enjoyed it but a few things pissed me off.
The 5 hour journey from London in an un air conditioned coach. I was dripping with sweat when i got off the coach.
No mobile phone signal made it almost impossible to meet up with people.
Buying anything was a rip off, �6 for a programme, �5 for a burger, �4 for a can of beer.
A lot of stalls had run out of cold drinks 1 hour into the event.

On a whole I was rather disspointed with the music that I saw at the night.
Push played alright, didn't like Tiesto at all, Armin dropped a few decent tracks, PvD was boring as hell (I really dislike his choise in music, it is all the same).
Left during PvD's set to catch the end of Zabiela (which was different to say the least) then went to catch the end of Adam Freeland (which was really good) and the beginning of Hybrid (alright).
Gutted I missed ferry, I thought he was gonna play electro-shyte so didnt bother
Also caught the end of BK's set, proper hard house classics, Are Y'all Ready, Eternal and some others and the beginning of Scot's (not really my style, but one track was amazing, I took a clip of it, hope it gets ID'd)
To be fair tho, I did spend the first 3 hours in there trying to sort my head out from having the strongest acid I hace ever had
I think the festival was sold out or nearly so (capacity: 35,000) as people who had bought tickets a week ago got tickets numbered 29 thousand and something. Thought the atmosphere was great, people I chatted to were pretty cool and into their music. It was also nice that quite a lot of people made an effort to dress up - spcially the young ladies in hotpants! and there wa even a couple of guys wandering round in Batman and Robin costumes.
Anyway, in very quick summary, after a horrible coach journey finally got in about 5pm (an hour after the official start of the festival) and met up with the first of my mates. The next 14 hours are a little blurry in parts, but the sets I heard either whole or in part plus purely arbitrary "all-in scores" ie set + crowd vibe + own state of mind/sobriety:

There was a certain amount of tough decision-making to be made, however I think we made some reasonable choices (at least for us). The worst was that Carl Cox and PvD were playing at the same time. Cox had the earlier-starting (and longer) set (12.30am-3am vs PvD's 1.30am-3.30am).
Never having seen Cox live before (the 1st time I'd been scheduled to see him spin was at Sonar in Barcelona a couple of months ago when he'd had to cancel, to huge disappointment from me and my mate), and since i was hugely enjoying his set come the critical peel-off time of 1.30am, and since as a rule i prefer longer sets to shorter ones (which is not the way festivals are built, i know), I elected just this once to give PvD a miss. If his set was anything like the N1 set, I'm glad i did! The energy at Cox's set was fantastic.

I'm am soooooo fucking gutted i missed ferry. Once again, i miss another fantastic producers set that would have had me on my knees 
anyhow, the weather was absolutely brilliant compared to last year, it was so nice at night, altho it got quite cold in the morning time (1-3am)
Good to meet everyone again, it was a miracle we managed it since the mobile phone coverage at the event was shite, with texts taking a couple of hours to be send and received. Sorry Joe, we had no idea where you were as we moved around every now and then, and tbh, we had no idea who to look for, apart from a tall person and the only tall person we could find was Gibbo
Rick and I waited for Toni to come, as we had her ticket, we got in to see J00F which was nice and banging, like last year. MIKE's PA was fucking funny, althou the tunes were good to listen to. Wasn't MIKE saying "yeah, yeah" over the speakers every now and then? i found that hilarious. And the drummer guy
G&D didn't fail to impress as usual It was nice to hear there remix of Above and Beyond - No One on Earth. And to hear that DJ Remy bootleg thingy...Tim would have wee'd his pants in excitement. The Smells like teen spirit and Murder was the Bass was a touch of genius!
Stayed for Mauro and Riccardo, Mauro played some stonking tunes, omfg the Verdi remix of Pulsar, what a fucking tune. and all the others too, it was nice and pumping. Riccardo played differntly, but it was good all the same. You know he was playing live when he played a sample at the wrong time
I didn't stay for all of Armin, but i wish i had caught Communication. I'm glad i caught White Room, Shattered and Yet another Surburban Train...I like it
Went to Polysexual for Scot Project, he was fucking banging it!!! What a set, nothing but tune after tune. R- Rock, FM - Feeling Me, loads of his productions, and he finished off on Arome - Hands Up (Scot Project Remix) OMFG quality set, i need to see him again!
Think i saw end of Tiesto next, i can't remember much, all i remember is Adagio for Strings, but don't remember Miss a DAy
PvD dissapointed, he didn't play anything like he did in Berlin, i guess i was expecting too much, he didn't play Alter Ego - Rocker to my dismay, and then Fergie played, it the bastard.
So i left to see Zabiela/End of Freeland. Freeland was good, Zabiela was boring, altho we did catch some scartching...he wasn't playing that many breaks tho and i was falling asleep to it, so we went to catch Hybrid, since we thought that Ferry would play another Electro ish set. Hybrid dissapointed me, and we were tired, so we started to make our way to the car. i can't believe i didn't want to drop into ferry. ARghhhhhhh!
went and sat in the car, and were watching scallies assault unsuspecting clubbers and stealing stuff from people...wasn't nice 
but was a good night out, and of course will be there again next year!
