Michael and Sally! You guys are the best! (Allegory and Mercure)

What a great day! I was originally only going to go and listen to my best buddy Max Q make his debut, but I wound up staying waaaay past my bedtime! Overall a great reminder of some of the talent that lurks among us, and also the reason why we keep comng back here, great people!

The DJs were great. Max played the grooviest set I think I've ever heard, a perfect start set, building slowly but relentlessly towards a strong finish.

I missed most of DJ Mitzi's (sp?) set, but the first bi was very good, excellent breaks DJ.

I also missed Steve Mack, who I'm told played a good set, I returned in time to hear Sara's set, which was very wicked, hard pumping beats, got me dancing for sure!

It was nice to hear Carl spin for my first time, and he lived up to the hype, very strong performance.

Matt, what can I say about the DJ's DJ? Awesome set, I danced like a maniac, and for a while, I think I was the only one dancing! (Probably fear over the flailing elbows!) :P I had to cut out a little early, so I missed Schryer's set, as always , but I'm reasonably sure he rocked the woods!

I can't say enough about Max's set, though. Very cool, I'm sure we'll be hearing your name a lot in the coming months!

As for the venue, it wasn't what I was expecting, but didn't disappoint. I was picturing us ON THE SAND. Weird, I thought at the time, but whatever! The way it turned out was much better.

Diana instisted on putting some red goo in my hair, which wound up looking pink... but whatever! Great day, good times. Everyone involved deserves a great big hug! Neeta, Seth, Gavin... and many more who helped make this a great success.

In closing, it was really nice to see some faces I haven't seen in a while, Kevin and Maddy..., and Liam, you have a drinking problem! You need to learn to PACE yourself! I'm glad you had a good time, though! The mosquitoes had a FEAST on me! I'm just a big overall itch!

Until next we chance to meet in the woods, fare thee well my party people!

JR.

What a fantastic day! It was nice to get together with friends I had not seen in a while as well as make some new ones. Special thanks to the DJs, who all played amazing sets and our awsome organizers Sally and Micheal who made all of this happen.

Actually you licked my face!! Kinda turned me on...

Posted by Kytracid on Aug-03-2004 02:04:

Oh dear, you shouldn't have admited that...but now that you have, I'd keep a box of napkins handy, just in case you run into the 'face licker' aka LDK again.

My sister & I had a great time. It was nice seeing so many TAs out and about. Big thank you to the organizers. Wish we could have stayed longer, the music was off the hook. I'll remember to bring a flash-light next time.

A huge thank you to everyone. There were so many good things about this party that I won't try to list them all, but beyond everything else we were blown away by the support that everyone gave. This was a true collective effort, from us as organizers, from the DJs, from the people who helped us set everything up, and from everyone who came and brought such consistently positive energy.

We also won't try to acknowledge everyone, because I would undoubtedly miss some people. But there are a few individuals who deserve to be recognized for the help they provided - without them we wouldn't have been able to put on this party:

What else to say? The music was awesome, from Seth's productions that we played right at the beginning, and from the first DJ set to the last, 10 hours later. We heard nothing but compliments (and well-deserved ones) from people about the DJs, all day. Even when people weren't dancing (which was basically most of the day while the sun was up), they were definitely listening and appreciating. There didn't seem to be a down period, musically speaking, in the entire day. We had so much fun, and hopefully everyone who went did too. We thought of this because we thought it would be cool to have a party outside for our friends and their friends, and to give some DJs we know more opportunities to spin. We have so many DJs in this city that are so good, and the more chances they have to showcase their talent, the better.

But all of that said, I don't think we'll be throwing a Celsius II anytime soon - at least not outdoors.

Well, I tell ya I had a GREAT time at Cherry Beach! What a venue that place is. It's so cozy and it's the PERFECT size for what we used it for. I would love to have parties there again (although it IS a bit of work to set things up and tear-down)

I had a lot of fun spinning for you who were there to listen to it. And for those who weren't there, I'll get you guys next time.

All the other DJ's were amazing. It was the best day ever.

BIG HUGE Thanks go out to Mercure, Allegory and Voodoochild -- well done organizing the party and I can't wait to go to your next ones!!

Yay, Sally and Michael! Good job, it was an all round success as the weather was a non factor after all.
I really wish I could have been there since the beginning as I missed many good local talent.
Thnx Richard for the beer and tix, Matt, Mike and Aaron for the reeaaally good tunes!

Kudos to Sally and Michael for an excellent party!

I was there for 3 hours and caught 4 dj's.... good tunes all around! Loved the soundsystem... so nice & clean and not at all washed out esp. considering the outdoor venue.

Also great to meet a lot of you for the 1st time as well.
