-- Help - Looking To Go Into CD Mixing
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
yes you could just get 1 cdj800/1000 and use traktor, but bear in mind you need to get a mixer aswell, and cheap mixers are always shite and break after about 4-6 months of use.
i am of the belief that its always best to shell out on an expensive mixer, then get your good cd decks or turntables later, as you will find you can get the hang of things better that way. the mixer is the crucial part of the setup, as when the mixer fucks up, the decks sound shite.
if i were you, go out and have a very long hard look at the (proffesional) mixers on the market, and get a couple of reasonable cheap cdj's. as cheap ones go don't go for the cdj100. they are pants and over-priced. have a look at the numark axis9, and the new vestax one (the name escapes me).
Ok guys i been looking at the net all night, and think im going to get the Pioneer CMX5000 since i found a good deal saving about 80 quid. One thing now is do i need a mixer to go with it, or can i plug it up2 my hifi system which has input/output, maybe my soundblaster extigy, or my pc. Any advice on its setup or pictures i would mostly appreciate.
Think its a nice bit of equiptment, and it does what im looking for
saving a fortune on the CDJ1000s which defo look nicer and more appealing to me, but i would rather have some money to spend on a good setup for the CMX5000 than blowing tons on them
thanks a mill.
I suggest getting a RANE MP 44 CLUB MIXER

you will need a mixer with the dual cd players (unless you have a sound card with 2 line-in's, if they exist), but 100 mixers suck balls :/
hi mate, just read your thread and maybe you have bought your decks and maybe you havent. I wouldnt suggest dual cd players because you want to be hands on, right!!!!!!!!! I would suggest denon 3000's single cd players, they dont have all the bells and whistles as there premium cd player, but still an excellent deck. This deck has an active spinning platter, which simulates an analouge turntable, and its gr8. These decks also have a 15 second sampler, so u can get creative in the mix, also have a hot start and loop feature allowing even more control in the mix. These decks also have mp3 capabilty, which to be honest i dont use, but still nice feature anyway. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!
