Awesomeeeeee!!!! Is that mountain near your house???? That be so cool to live near scenery like that, would prefer it then living in the city sometimes!

Posted by Orbax on Aug-06-2004 18:05:

yeah its 15 minutes away. I have 4 awesome mountains I love to hike in the area, and 25 mins away is the pass for snowboarding and skiing, i 2 mins away from an awesome lake...I love where I live

Nou: Um. Dont remember hehe.

and its amazing. Ive taken my dog up there and its running EVERYWHERE. That thing must travel 4x as much as I do on that hike and doesnt think twice about it

also. Hike kilamanjaro while you can because in 20 years the snow cap will be melted on it :\

Id love to go, my dad was in Kenya said it was amazing...next time he goes to do mission stuff I might hitch a ride and explore

That is really nice, but the englishman had it right. You can't beat the rockies. Especially for skiing. Are those the Appalachians or Adirondikes? Or neither? I have to go a lot further to hike, if I want to. At least 20 - 30 minutes.

by the way, orbax has a nice body in that pic.

I haven't done it. I was supposed to do it in June, but I came here instead. (bah!) - Maybe next year!

You don't need much training - and no technicial gear. You just have to be in pretty good shape and able to deal with some extremes. There is a glacier on the top so you do need minimal cold weather stuff.

That's what I've heard at least.

i hiked Mt. Fugii in Japan during a typhoon (typhoon came towards the end)...couldn't make it to the top because of it. i only did 13k feet...i had like 2k more to go. waste of a trip. i didn't get the last two stamps on my hiking trip...

Its the cascades. runs through washington.

I agree the rockies are awesome. Ive been through them in Canada and America. Banff was gorgeous. Mountains in general rule.

I wish my camera hadnt died. I hiked Si at 3am to catch the sunrise and the sun rose from behind me and I was staring right at Mt.Rainier in the distance as the sun hit the glaciers and snow and it turned blood red...coolest morning ever. And the camera DIED!!@#

A ha. tHanks for the clarification. Haven't been to Washington yet. You near Seattle at all? Any scene other than D&B there?

Posted by Orbax on Aug-06-2004 18:43:

yeah I live near Seattle. Havent gotten into the scene much here. Im too much of a cheap ass to go clubbing

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-06-2004 18:44:

Cool. I hear you. Clubs are a drain on the income.
