Theres 5 hours yet 4 dj's. I dont see the reasoning to not have 5 dj's over the 5 hours with each dj having an hour each.

Nic Fanciulli's on now.

Anybody know why Radio1 dropped Seb's show?

Posted by swisstoni_uk on Aug-07-2004 23:09:

NICK FANCULLI PLAYING NOW

Posted by InterMilan31 on Aug-07-2004 23:11:

Just a thought but maybe the reason why Armin is not there. Dancevalley was held today in Holland so maybe he couldnt get to Ibiza in time to make the preformance and had to cancel last minute. Since I remember yesterday hearing a promo for him during the Essential Mix. Nic Fanciulli is on now.

I was told because of the ratings and he caters to an older crowd. Radio One wanted a Fergie type show for that slot. So instead of getting someone new they moved him and Seb was out.

Last years EM was a shocker though, terrible mixing. I just fear the same for his set tonight and only last week could he not mix for shit at Global Gathering. I would say anything could be better than his set there last week but recently with this guy you just don't know any more!

yeh - i gotta agree with you there - he's a real wildcard at the moment. just when everyone writes him off he comes back with something special - i hope for his sake tonight is that night

Posted by InterMilan31 on Aug-07-2004 23:27:

If last years EM first 2 hours with Oakey & Tiesto was recorded from a few nights before than why couldnt Radio One record one of the nights where Tiesto & Paul Van Dyk play I think at Amnesia? Oakie definitly has to show me something or retire.

Posted by swisstoni_uk on Aug-07-2004 23:27:

LOL i forgot that armin was doing a 6 hour set at DanceValley theres no way he can fly to Ibiza and do another set in less than 2 hours, the poor guy would have neen knackered lol

Posted by Semirk on Aug-07-2004 23:32:

Oakey still has something there I think just not when he plays a mismatch of tunes like he has been of late. When he plays a set of more laid-back, progressive tunes with full concentration like I've heard from him before he can be a class act. Don't think that will happen tonight though but I do hope he'll be worth listening to at least. And some decent mixing would be nice too!

I think it really is a make or break night for oakey tonight - if he plays a stormer then all will be good and well - if he plays a hash of tunes like last year then I think for alot of people it will be the final straw.

Posted by mentalbarter on Aug-07-2004 23:41:

still nic

sounds quite good

Posted by mentalbarter on Aug-07-2004 23:46:

meh new mix of chable 7 Bonnici - ride

im gonna have to make some food if this is on

Posted by Semirk on Aug-07-2004 23:48:

Listening to the Global Gathering set last week, the crowd still seemed to be really behind him so for some people the experience of seeing him live must still be fantastic and overwhelming. Just when not in the club atmosphere people can see Oakey for his faults though eventually if he doesn't produce many memorable sets in the near future, this reputation as seeing his faults as a home listener will spread to the clubbers in the clubs watching him IMO.

Therefore as a DJ, he will only go on a downhill route. Maybe not make or break for him tonight but in the very near future, certainly.

whats this track + remix???

yeh - i was looking more from the point of view of ppl posting on this board - if he plays a bad one tonight then he will be crucified

Posted by InterMilan31 on Aug-07-2004 23:53:

Nic is wicked so far.

ah yeah, he'll definately get slated for a shocker tonight on here. Not the most satisfying of opinions for his GG set! This will be worse even if its remotely off-key!
