There's me right there. I have to wash my hands everytime I touch something new. It drives me nuts! I absolutely CANNOT eat unless my hands have been washed, maybe up to three or four times. This makes it a little hard when I go camping, but I usually bring hand sanitizer.

I also HAVE to shower at least once a day, and when I brush my teeth, it takes me up to 10 minutes, as I will brush until they feel sufficiently clean.

The only time I ever check the walls for spiders, are if I find one in the first place. If there is a spider, I will get rid of it somehow (usually bugging the person with me to kill it, or throwing something at it,) and then I will thoroughly check the rest of the room to see if it had a partner.

wow i had no idea

have you been diagnosed as obsessive/compulsive? or are you just suggesting that you share a lot of those traits?

ah yes i do that too. i stand at the light switch and count the corners a couple times. theres 6 corners in my room. i dont know why i do it, i only picked this one up couple months ago.
i have a thorough check for spiders (done this since i saw a big white tail spider in one corner) then count the corners couple times then go to bed.
theres probs heaps more weird shit i do, but i cant remember them just now.

oh i click the mouse button a lot. like heaps. just where ever, not on buttons just on the background. when i read this thread i would have clicked it about 30times. i think that if i dont do it one more time then somehing bad will happen to me, kinda like karma. so i keep clicking. oh wellll

I've never been diagnosed by a doctor, but I know that I have OCD, especially when it comes to washing my hands. I don't think it's a problem, so I don't really worry about it, but my friends tease me a lot.

years ago, before i would go to bed, everynight i would check to see if my dad was still breathing in his sleep..im not sure why..but..well i know why but thats another story. anywas, i would do this everynight, for months and months...call me crazy... i havnt done that for a long time now though...

i have to tuck in my bed sheets if they are wrinkling and comming out from the bottem of my matress..the sheets have to be flat or i just cannot stand it..
and other "normal" things like putting right sock and shoe on first.

oh i just thought of one...
this one is more or less embarassing.

every night since i can remeber before i go to sleep..i say "g'night-dad-love-ya-see-ya-in-the-morning"
really fast...ok there is a story behind all this..i used to be dead scared my dad would die because his father died and my dad is like a hardcore smoker and drinker so i would be scared every night he would die..
this doesnt happen anymore though

blah blah..

right to add some of my personal ones like I said i'd do

Telephones - I Always dial a number, and before the last number hang up and redial it to make sure i've not dialled a wrong number

bed - all 3 pillows have to be in the same place, same way round, the quilt has to be exactly the same way round, back to front or upside down sends me mad. I Have to lie on my right side to start with, then turn once to the left, and back to the right before I drop off.

eating - i have these slices once a week, chicken & mushroom, i have to cut all 4 edges off, then eat the top, then the filling, then the bottom.

sausage rolls - i have to bite both ends off before i carry on down it.

and theres more scary ones than that that i daren't mention

Now if it was something that controlled your life and you had to revolve everything else around it...then that would be a problem hehehe

I agree, I have some habits that are weird.
Whenever I wash my face or brush my teeth, I always have to splash my face 5 times. But the funny thing is I count like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5, 5. If I bring home fast food, I always wash my hands before I eat and I never use the plastic forks they give you. When getting dressed for school, I always put my right shoe on first. I think that if I don't, I will jinx myself and do bad. When I prepare for a surgery, I always have my scalpel facing a certain direction and in a certain spot on the stand.

When I'm making my bed, I have to check that the part of the duvet/sheet that hangs down over each side is the same lengh or I go mad.

If I put something in the bin (with a liftable lid so I am forced to touch it) I HAVE to wash my hands.

When I leave the house I sometimes can't remember if I locked the door, so I have to come back and check, and guess what.. it's always locked.

when washing in the shower the order is:
balls, arse (note proper spelling), legs, armpits, arms, chest, back, face, hair (if needed)
then drying afterwards with towel is in pretty much reverse order

tho this maybe normal

wait... you wash your balls before your face?

and in reply to ian's post who's to say whats normal?
just cos the majority of people dont do something, maybe they are just too scared to roll over twice before sleeping

every time I open a can of beer I tap the top 7 times, completely involuntarily. I guess that isn't necessarily OCD it's just habit.

I re-check if I turned mine on 10 or 15 times "just to make sure its ok." This involves re-setting it, going 24 hours around just to make sure I did not confuse AMs and PMs...
