That's what got me addicted, though i did listen to trance before just wasn't as big in my life.

First it was Nigel Richards "hand in the air" an old & his only trance tapes, back in 96. Then I got into Kimble Collins back in 98/99. Even though I love trance I had a phase from 2001- mid 2003 where it was only techno & hard house for me. Recently in the last year I rejuvinated my love for Trance again.

at that time i didnt know who PvD was, but a few weeks later i was at barnes and noble and i saw PvDs CD/DVD Global. i bought it, loved it. end of story

the very very first dance music I ever heard was bad boy bill on the radio in Chicago in late 80s. I was like 7 or 8 years old and from then on I was always interestedin Dance Music. In the mid 90's I started to like euro cheese because of of a DJ here in Chicago by DJ Markski started to introduce me to Euro Dance. I was like 16. I think I got tired of euro dance and thought it was cheesy when I discovered Paul van Dyk on a Euro Dance webnsite. I rember the site actually, it was www.eurodancehits.com they review euro cds and for some reason Paul van Dyk was one of those Cds reviewed. The Cd was Out there and Back. When I listened to it the first time I just remeber saying to myself this is the future of dance music not that cheese. His music really inspired me and made me wonder agian (like a child) how could someone make such beautiful music. I could feel emotions in each track different and more unique than those I previously found in euro dance. I never heard live sets from pvd ( I ddint have dsl) but bought all his production work. Naturally after dicovering PVD I found the other trance DJ's. I think Fery was next followed by Armin then tiesto. Because of my childhood experices and continous passion and love for dance music I found myself waqnting to become a DJ. It is only recently after I started to be a bedroom dj that I became a serious trance addict (i.e. following track lists, knowing artists and labels, knowing all those "newer" djs , etc.) I think dj'ing has made me more of a music freak.

Someone buys me a crappy-cheese compilation in 1999 (I remember the year because of the name of the CD's). It has a CD named "eurotrance", and this was the CD I played most times. The tunes I liked most on this CD where System F - Out of the blue, ATB - Too much rain and... DJ Jean - The launch.

Some PvD and Oakenfold tracks I got from my friend. But what really got me into it big time was after I started eating pills. Went to South Beach for spring break in '99 and spent 4 nights at the Shadow Lounge. Missed Oakenfold's essential mix world tour set there by 1 week :/ Pretty much all I've listened to since then.

what got me into edm was sasha & digweed's nothern exposure II

before that i thought dance music was barbie girl etc ... that is what happens when you grow up in the backwaters of canada.
