even though 90% of my friends like pop and rap, they still respect me for my love of trance.
Yerrr those rap songs dont do much for me either. Trance is like an epic adventure through time & space & a sausage. Dont forget the sausage.

well like all or most of us, i didnt just start listening to trance as my first genre, so i've been 'addicted to other kinds'...but those addictions were so not anything compared to how edm has dominated my entire life since i got into it..
i know this may just be the experience of a single person, even tho i'm sure a good bit of you know what i'm talking about - but even still i thought of this last week at the club... out of all the different kinds of shows/concerts, EDM and non-EDM, the energy of the crowd and outright love for the music is muuuuch more obvious at EDM events
so to answer the original question..i'm really not sure why, but i think it's pretty damn accurate regardless of whether or not its a generalization
it's b/c EDM is the DEVIL!

I think hardcore rock fans are just as addicted as hardcore trance fans...
it just seems so...
Trance is my soul
It makes me laugh inside everytime my friends say "You listen to that damn techno, techno sucks ass!"
What makes it funny is they know nothing about the kind of music us TA's listen to because most of them listen to rock and stuff. Ah well, I know which music is good so im set lol.. 
Trance
I Love It, Those energetic melodies just get my adrenaline pumping, I feel that music more then anything else..and i WILL admit i'm addicted!
I for one think that Trance listeners are more addicted than listeners of other genre's.
I think a lot of people who listen to Pop,Hip Hop etc listen to it more to fit in.Not many of them have actually listened to a lotta genre's and then chosen Hip Hop.
Even the guys who REALLY like Pop of Hip Hop....do you really think they experience the same kinda 'high' we experience.
Hell I cream my pants at every beautiful breakdown and cream my pants all over again when the track kicks.
Now tell me thats what a Pop listener goes through.
I think not.
Also,as said before I think we hold it special to us cause we have made an effort to go out of our way to find something we love and not just excepted whats been put in front of us by the Music Channels and Record Companies.
I really get disgusted when they[record companies] keep promoting crap songs and expect people to but the cds just cause the songs have a couple of hot chicks in them.
Gonna take a better quality of music to get me interested.
I think the trance lovers' addiction is much stronger and 'hungry' than the lovers of other music type. Well, that's my opinion, based on who I know in rl.
Because Trance is the only type of music worth listening to while on drugs.(E to be precise) Flame away! 
Trance is a way of life and a culture, you don't just listen to the music, you live the life. I know that hip-hop and rock are genres that have a culture too, but it has become the 'in' thing to be a part of these cultures, so along with the genuine die-hard fans, you have all the posers. Last time i checked you aren't automatically cool or accepted if you listen to Trance , at least thats how it is where I'm at. I remain a beacon among the House and Rnb addicts around me.
i think because there is so much emotion in trance...
when i'm on my bike, i want trance! when i'm on vacation, i want trance!!
it's very hard to understand, but once you understand the beauty of trance, you'll get addicted to it.

i listen to trance 24/7
im listenin rite now as we speek
i carry my mp3 player around the house all the time
EDM is massive, theres no way to not like any genre of EDM unless you are super ignorant and just dismiss it before listening to it

When all the teenyboppers were getting jiggy to 'N Sync's "Pop" and Britney's "Toxic", I smiled.
Its an escape, its also the only genre that I have respect for anymore. I gave up on a lot of other bands and music that I've listened to growing up and trance is the only music I'll listen to anymore.
