Yeah but when you first get interested in the scene it starts out as a pain in the ass because you don't know the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Hello kingklubs, welcome to the forums.

My advice to anyone just getting into trance music is to definitely check out those compilation CDs. It's the best way to find out about the many different artists out there. Just make sure not to limit yourself to the newest CDs, because a lot of the best tunes you will find on older compilations. Check out the Gatecrasher or Godskitchen series - some really quality stuff on those...

A little update...

I wasnt sure if i should have made a new thread so I just brought this one back up. I have added quite a few CDs to my collection, using what you guys have said, and I really like what you guys have suggested. Here's what I got:

Armin Van Buuren - 76 (This is awesome! Burned with desire, and Communication are my favorite tracks)

Paul Oakenfold - Creamfields (I like this on a lot too, makes me want to check out many of the artists)

Paul Van Dyk - Reflections (The lyrics are kinda cheesy on a few of the tracks... but overall its pretty cool)

Tiesto - In my Memory (Awesome, I dont know if I like this or Just Be more)

Armin Van Buuren - A State of Trance (Haven't listened to the whole thing yet,but I like how it sounds so far)

But I just thought I'd share what I picked up and if you guys have anything else that you think I should pick up right away.

if you want, get tiestos earlier artist album, "In My Memory" from 2002 i think. its good stuff for a beginner.

pick up some hemmstock and jennings (they released a 2x12 album i think)

Just get blazed up, buy all the CDs mentioned here and listen to them all, making you nearly omniknowledgeable to both prog and trance
one thing though, you will like pick Involver over Just Be any day, in a few years or months, probably years, I don't really know you so I can't say
