Just when I thought RvdB had lost his creative touch, he comes up with this tech-edged, driving trancer. Simply effective and one of the best of 2004.

Agreed. It came out on Afterglow around the beginning of the year (I think) and I really like it. My only complaint is that the kick could be a lot stronger but otherwise is a great track.

Also agree about the original mix of 'Taurine'. I played it at 3.30am to a full dancefloor of around 700 people on Friday night and the place went nuts. Fantastic track with a lot of emotion.

A nice twist on the mix album might be:

The Most Underrated Trance Anthems In The World... EVER!

I'm serious. It'd help get the word out about some quality music that needs a loving home and a warm ear to snuggle up in.

Miek Shiver does (he spun it at the GDJB, july 5).

YES! YES! YES! (no, i'm not having an orgasm although i might )

Dawn is such a GREAT track...Alba is nice, but Dawn...oh my God...it's pure brilliance! Definitely deserved a separate release than to be Alba's B-side.

Astura - Orion's Belt (Cern Remix)
Great tune; Really uplifting break with an energetic synth. I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere.

Oh, and Alex Bartlett - Amnesia (Technikal Remix).

....

1.A Force - Gravitational Waves - so fucking sweeeet!

2.Marris - Egarnical - A Piece of heaven..

3.Nu-Nrg - Free Fall - dont even have to add another word...

Starkid - Crayons (Leama and Moor Remix)
Ok, This tune has gotten plenty of hype, but so have lots of other tunes people posted (see: Emotion in Motion, Guanxi, the Super 8 tunes, etc).

Oliver Shine - South Star (Original Mix)
Nice little tune you can drop in the middle of about five kinds of sets. Groovy bassline and its pretty multi-functional (i.e. can be mixed in to/out of alot of songs)

Palanya - Emotional Overload (Original Mix)
Octagen comes out with a new mix and everyone goes wild. The newest Re:Locate tune comes out and the boards are lit afire. So the man behind both projects dons another alias and his best effort goes unnoticed? I think you can buy this for five dollars now...

Dr. Kucho - Challenge for Sark (Original Mix)
The B-Side to Lies to Yourself, this song exemplifies house music to me. Its trancey enough to keep my attention (hows that for an oxymoron) yet housey enough to dance to. Kucho is an artist I havent heard much of on these boards...I'm not sure if the house lovers here (and they do exist) hate him or dont know him.

John Remedy - Ventricle (Lamoen & Lishious Mix)
So youre in the middle of a trance set, and you need something loud, driving, and hard enough to keep everyone going. on the dance floor. Put in this tune and you wont be disappointed. Tailor made intro to easily mix into and its bass structure on the exit allows it to be easily mixed into a wide variety of traditional trance favorites as well as some contemporary hits.

Form & Function - Wonderland (Original Mix)
This track made its debut on the 5-star balance 005 mix, but was just released EQ recently. This tune has a nice jazzy groove to it which holds its own with any of the largest progressive releases this year.

Way out West - Melt (Original Mix)
Many People were sure that Involver was the album of the year upon its release. However others, while giving it the respect it deserved, looked even further ahead to the coming Way out West album. Fans were not to be disappointed when a few samples hit the internet, including this beautiful tune, even further raising the anticipation for what should truly be one of electronic musics best albums.

Unknown Source - Nadjanema (Airbase Remix)
Bubble Fish - Sushi Lovers
M.I.K.E. vs John '00' Fleming - Ice Cream (M.I.K.E. Remix)
Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown

They all got some play...but they didn't get the OMFG OWNAGE that they really do deserve...

2002

but yeah, ice cream mike remix should have got a bit more played

Dan ,

I agree with you 100% on Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown.

This is an awesome song. I am not sure why djs (other than tiesto) have not had this in their rotation.

I think its becuase it has a difficult intro and outro to mix in and out of.
