That's all I meant. Or even Michael Redd who could actually hit a jumpshot. 3-25 from 3pt range? Yikes!

Obviously fielding a hodgepodge of (mostly) upper talent isn't gonna put the fear into Serbia-Montenegro anymore.

A year around squad that is more balanced with shooters and role players might be a better solution. The talent level in this country should muster up better than a thrashing by a country that is basically the size of one of our states. It's embarrassing for sure!

It's like Brazil getting smoked 3-0 in soccer by Slovenia.

ur right...but most big money players would rather concentrate on injury rehab during the off season. There is something called heart, maybe after this loss the US will show some.

I agree!! Allen Me, Myself and Iverson ("Practice? We're talking about practice.") is the captain. Funny but he is probably one of the only ones with heart.

Besides him and Duncan, the others look like they're sleepwalking out there.

I'm hoping they rebound like they did after they lost to Italy in the warm-ups.

embarresment

the US basketball them should be embaressed of themselves...not to take anything away from puerto rico but lets be real they should have never lost that game and none the less by 19...every player on that them is self-enflicted i bet they just wanna get this tournament over with and come back home asap to there lavish lifestyles...no pride of the flag on their chest..and the players whose choose not to come to represent their country should be even more ashamed its on honor to be called to play for your nations sports team but not here of course our basketball players would rather be in nightclubs sipping on moet with thier "bitcthes" then bring home the gold...the only respect i give out team is the fact that thier there and playin for gold...but are they actually playing????

did anyone else watch the game this morning vs. austrailia?

the first half it seemed like every other game with the US gettin there asses handed to them cause of the zone but then in the second half played like how they should play. lebron james in the 4th quarter was making great plays along with shawn marion those guys are the ones who gave the US this game. maybe the momentum is starting to shift in the US's direction? we will see when they play the harder teams they didnt even start playing the good teams which are in the other pool.

Couldn't see the game but read about it. Lebron looks like the man. The writers were punking out Carmelo for laughing when they were losing and basically being worthless. That's a little surprising to me... Lebron has got loads of talent!

Realistically, should we be happy they won by 10 against Australia? They have nobody I've ever heard of. Our expectations have sunken so low but I'm happy as well with the win. Baby steps I guess....

A huge test is next with Lithuania.

They need shooters badly!

Carmello has a long way to grow as a player...Lebron seems to be maturing much faster

i actually saw the entire 2nd half before i left for work this morning. they looked fluid late in the 3rd and 4th, because they made a conscious effort to make the extra pass against the zone defense. lebron james is REALLY REALLY suited for zone defense because of his passing. he threw a great touch pass from the elbow down to the baseline where wade was and wade made a pertty nice move to put in the lay-up. shawn marion needs to stop chucking up threes because he's a really terrible outside shooter. carlos boozer understands his role on offense (garbage-type points off misses).

the D actually looked good. they went through their rotations, and when they harried the aussies with blocks and steals, it often led to easy points..
