I prefer Family Guy myself. I've got nothing against The Simpsons, I think it's fantastic, but every Family Guy episode is just hilarious.

NOT EVEN CLOSE - the simpsons is one of the ALL-TIME succesful shows.

to say a higher % of "family guy" shows are better is ludacris, knowing that the simpsons has been on tv going on 13 yrs now! THIRTEEN YRS

I'd have to go with Family Guy. I used to be a big fan of the simpsons tho. Not realy anymore because the show has become more silly than the excellent satire it used to be filled with.

well techincally, there is a higher percentage of good shows in family guy

I've been a huge simpsons fan from the beginning, got dvd's up to season 4 (they take for ever to release em in the uk) and i got all the family guy's up to season 3 on dvd too

now, i can honestly say that the first few seasons of simpsons are utter crap, it's all about how funny bart is, and we all know the star of the show is homer.
that said, lisa and marge both annoy the crap out of me, they arent funny, but other cast members make up for that (ralph wiggum, burns, barney, etc)

family guy always makes me piss myself laughing, they do a more unrealistic humour, much like futurama, and cartoons are in essence not supposed to be realistic. Brian and Stewie are brilliant, and Peter can be just as funny as homer (tho i prefer homer's voice/thought process)

they are both great shows, but family guy takes it for me as I have seen more funny episodes in proportion to the number of episodes watched

Family guy didnt catch on during the time it was on air, but they are bringing it back because DVD sales have gone through the roof- its a late starter if you like! plus it didnt come to britain till later, and pretty much al the brits love it apparently, including myself. simpsons has seen its day and i agree that the majority of family guy episodes are excellent, where as simpsons was always hit or miss.
