Here's a lullaby to close your eyes goodbye
It was alwyas you that I despised
I don't feel enough for you to cry oh well
Here's a lullaby to close your eyes goodbye

my favorite part is when the vocals are almost by themselves, without the kick or anything

sent me shivers, and that only happens when i hear something melodically awesome... good work

I love that piano...

not sure if this has been address but the kick/bass IS TERRIBLE...

there is NO bass and the kick has too much snap...

the lyrics somewhat come in out of no where.. a breakdown or something might of been a better place to put it in...

too much treble as well (i see that's been meantioned, but I'll meantion it again)

hey carl,
I was at a gig with Matt Hardwick this saturday, and he played this remix went down very well!!!! congrats!

Posted by Dewi on Nov-16-2004 11:18:

Amazing tune Carl. Matt Hardwick played it on saturday, sounded amazing mate!

keep it up!

Your bass needs more... bass.

Your FX are very pretty.

I'm not really a big fan of vocals with lyrics, but I must say you handle these pretty well. I still don't like them, but it's better than most vocal tracks.

The breakdowns sound sort of like new age music. It's kinda weird.

Posted by george_hales on Nov-16-2004 18:10:

Hi Carl,

Right, some feedback that will hopefully help you.

The kick is the first thing i noticed. There is a real lack of solid bass on it and far too much midrange on it, try adding more below 70 Hrz.

The bass is also lacking a bit, but will sound improved once the kick is sorted.

The acid is cool, but would be better with some sharper top end on it.

Vocals need to be louder, and some high mid needs added to bring them to life.

Hope this helps!

George

Fantastic mate!

Matt Hardwick dropped it at Shushh last weekend with me, John O'Callaghan and Thrillseekers. Did it do off? OH YES!

Nice work!

Wow damn, whats this??

The original is from silent hill 4, yeah very nice game.
And your remix, fantastic!!

Fantastic

add a bit more of bass and it will become a perfect tune!!

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Dec-16-2004 01:01:

Should have maintained the depressive feeling the original has, in your remix, it doesnt do the original justice, just feels like another trancetune with sampled vocals now.
in my opinion that is

Sick remix Carl, really digging this man! I'm not going to compare it to All Day, which is awesome, but this is a really strong track. I'd definitely include it in one of my sets. Well done and keep up the good work

Posted by djGT on Dec-17-2004 01:29:

Damn I'm loving this track, will have to use it in a future mix!

Posted by Dave_Masters on Dec-18-2004 20:09:

Wow, this is really good!

Like the others said, there is a lack of good low end bass frequencies, and the vocals could do with being abit louder in places.

I dont think the piano is boring at all though.

Excellent remix, found this one a bit late but late is better than never. I'm a huge Silent Hill fan and it's nice to see some of this amazing music being remixed. Good Job!

Posted by Global-Trance on Jan-03-2006 02:34:

Carl! I love your work and this one is no exception. Glad you picked Silent Hill 4 to remix.

Carl B is a TA member?

Posted by Four_On_Four-er on Jan-03-2006 08:12:

Interesting material here...

I like it alot.

However, the compressor is a bit too pumping. I've been in the bad habit lately of strapping a compressor across the master... and I've been trying to break it. I say that because this sounds like the gain pumping is ruining the dynamics.

However, the vocals are very haunting, the production is very chill. I liked the slap of the clap, and the breezy strings.

Keep it up!
