But it is true, ManU would have 25 supporters out of England if they weren't successful, not 2,000,000,000. And every ManU fan became a fan when they weren't successful, or when they were 7 years old. I was merely pointing out this fact.

But if you want me to post pictures of little red bandwagons, I'm more than willing to oblige.

The arguement brought up here can be brought up about baseball... oh its boring... oh, its just a bunch of guys swinging a stick and throwing a ball. blahblahblah. Ive been a fan of the italian soccer team for 10 years now - its hard to watch the games since we dont get the league games in the US, but whenever I can I watch.

Why do you like football?

Football (the real one) isn't my cup of tea, but I enjoy watching the big games, and I recognize the fact its the most popular sport on earth.

Baseball rules all tho.

Not MLB basebal... the playing with your friends at the ballpark baseball.

Baseball was invented as a sport for fat people to play. Quite helpful in a country like the US I might add.

How do you become a fan of a national team for only 10 years?

Not really, my brother-in-law is a fan and introduced me to soccer and I really got into it in 94 for the world cup, he was a big italy fan, and so were all my friends at the time. So it kinda stuck with me. So like I said, whenever I get a chance to watch some italian soccer I do because it doesnt happen often. Im 20 yrs old, I wish I was alittle older and got into it into it earlier on when the great 82 italian team was playing. I would have loved to see Rossi play.

Huh? You can't pick and chose your favorite national side.

There is a term for this, and its bandwagon jumping.

You are born in a country, or are a citizen of a country, and this is not negotiable.

This fact seems to be lost on a great many.

Lol, I look at it this way, I was born into italian soccer through friends and family. I dont care for US soccer because its crap, in 2002 they finally made it out of the special olympic stages of soccer and actually moved someplace.

My definition of bandwagoning goes like this... anyone that wasnt a fan of the Yankees before 1996 is a bandwagoner. Ive been a fan since the late 80's, early 90's. Bandwagoners are people that jump from team to team rooting for the favored team. I just happened to luck out and have friends and family that liked Italy.

Well, most people do start supporting teams when theyre very young dont they (well maybe not where ur from)? And since uniteds recent success only started in the early 90s, its fairly likely that anyone over the age of 14 did start supporting them before that.

I never had to ditch it, US football didnt really exist, it was never popular. You need to remember, I live in the US where soccer is NOT #1 - we didnt have all these league tournaments and so on like the rest of the world, nor was it publicized back than. I became a fan of AC Milan because I loved Roberto Baggio and Paolo Maldini.
