no, and i hope i never feel the need to own one.
i have a 45.
with mecury tipped hollow points but there illegal now i believe so they'd be just for practice. the range i go to just had a guy commit suicide just a few days before i was there. left a note in his car and walked inside,payed his fees,walked into the range, and shot himself in the head with a 22(which is a questionable gun if your going to kill yourself). details of the note haven't come out yet.
i was pretty shocked when i heard about it......

You have to watch the movie to truly appreciate how funny that scene is.
In answer to the question posed in this thread, i don't think i would like to own a gun because i think they are too dangerous to have around, whether you use them for "self-defence" or whatever. I live in a safe area, hell, we don't even lock our doors at night, so i see no need to own a gun. I wouldn't mind shooting one though!! I've played paintball and that was bloody awesome!! Sooooooooo much fun! 
I think it would be an enormous rush to shoot a gun, in a safe, controlled environment like a shooting range.

I'd like to get an older WW2 era bolt action rifle, like a Springfield or something...but thats about it. Would be fun to take it out to the desert for target practice
