I'd agree that Ferry has produced some of the most uplifting trance, but I wouldn't cite the same examples.

System F - Cry (DotNL Mix) is perhaps the most uplifting trance tune I've heard, and also my favourite Corsten production. Elevate is also ridiculously uplifting. Ligaya, however, I don't like. It sounds like he was trying too hard.

And a rather special remix by another top-tier producer, special because he has never done anything else like it... and I don't know why:

Ayu - Unite! (Airwave Remix)

i like simple tracks if it appeals, but now it's all about the rolling 3 layerd basslines with 10 acids, supersaws....yay!

The trick is to do that and make it sound simple... but when you look deeper into it it's not simple at all...

Ferry Corsten in his good old days was the king of uplifting trance. One good example:

Pulp Victim - The World '99 (Moonman Remix)

And pretty much everything under his Moonman guise.

You wouldn't do that either since you're not elitist, right?

That's down to opinion. Claiming opinion is wrong, is elitism.

I'm sure I remember you nominating that tune for worst lead synth

Anyway back to the topic...

People have different definitions of what 'uplifting' means I guess. For me, uplifting tunes are ones which I really can't see myself connecting any negative feelings to... and most of the emotional trance breakdowns I've heard work for me because they combine that euphoric state with an air of solemnness... I listen to them when I'm down and instead of 'uplifting' me they emphasise whatever emotions I'm going through and kinda end up draining them away afterwards, making me forget everything & enter a state of err... trance. It's hard to explain...

I can't listen to 'uplifting' stuff when I'm depressed, hehe.. makes me feel worse. But I would class these as uplifting/happy tracks:

Older: Cygus X - Superstring (rank 1 remix)

Newer: Timeok - Seven Floating Ways (octagen remix)

I sure did. That doesn't mean I am above giving this guy what he wants.

Just struck me as odd how something you hate can be uplifting to you. Unless you err, hate being uplifted
