i downloaded this a while a go, but i didnt had the time to comment yet. this tune is awesome, i really like it. nice sounds used and good fx.
though, the kick sounds a lot deeper in the intro then during the track, but that could be because of my shitty computer speakers:P and the snareroll in the break gave me the 'here comes the climax' idea 2 times but nothing really happened.
but i love it anyway
good work!

Hey external,

Great stuff we have here, starts with the strong clicky kick great! the percussion is brilliant, effects just starting to come in, suites it well as so does the ambient pad effect in the background. Bass has just came in now, a high pass filter? just to smooth things off then into the deep sub bass, nice effects!. Splash / Crash effects work well, now into the second part of the buildup with the analouge lead (which i totally adore) and bringin in a pad now still going sweet.

Now for the breakdown, very simple imo but effective with a slight snare roll twice and everything cutting off. Straight in with the pads and a lovely piano melody, sweet. Now building up the main lead and ambient effects and a nice rough effect also works.

Coming into the main part of the composition, imo the buildup sounds a touch flat but for sum reason its working for me. I like how you have carried the piano through and changed the main lead slightly.

Lovely mastering and control of the frequencies, i really like this alot and with permission would love to play this at my residency?

Great work, Im gonna keep an eye out for your future work.

Terry

WOW!! I love this remix! To be honest, I didn't really like the original, but this really takes the track to a whole new level. One thing that really bugs me is the breakdown. Take a listen to the bass pads, there's one note that seems out-of-tune. If you fix that, this'll be a monster track!!

Posted by staticblue on Nov-20-2004 23:14:

hey thanks gerry

as its quite a long time since i made this remix, im not sure what pad note you are talking about, but be sure i'll fix it when i have the time.

glad that you liked it !

Excellent remix of an excellent track- I love what you've done with the arrangement and introduction sounds--- really enjoyable, especially those plucky armin-like chords in the introduction.

Only a few things I'd take a look at--- there are a few sounds that are panning that are creating some phasing problems (lookin at it through an analyzer)-- not a big deal at all, just something to keep an eye out for in the future.

Pads are absolutely magic in the break---what can i say, the entire break is magic!!

Also just double check the low end, the kick sounds a bit weak to me and the bass is a wee bit lacking-- easy fixes, worthwhile too because this is a great track!

Thanks for the opportunity to hear it

Awesome remix You did a great job with this one!

Posted by staticblue on Nov-21-2004 20:19:

hey thanks

love the intro...that simple bass line with the other leads works great in the beginning.
break is beautiful...love the piano there
very moving main leads...like how you kept the piano in the main part.
Keep up the good work. Awesome remix.

nice track,

realy like what you did here. effects and percusions sounds very good, realy diversified, realy sophisticated. melody is awesome (apreciation goes to carl b). pads are wicked. good addendum to the original. like the summer flavour your remix offers.

Posted by staticblue on Dec-13-2004 18:43:

glad you all like it

Love the bassline, reminds me a lot of Yahel's early works.
Didnt like what you did with the melody there, but its just my taste I guess.
Great work overall!

Posted by staticblue on Dec-14-2004 16:06:

thanks, and NO i did not sample a Yahel bassline . And as you say i'm sure its a matter of taste

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Dec-15-2004 02:36:

Very nice perc track.

Cool effect at 0:23.

Wonderful bassline at 1:22.

I'm really starting to feel like that piano seems out of place. I think it could use more reverb. Or something to make it sound a little more distant.

Good work with the outro. Overall, very nice. I like it.

Overal sounds are decent, sounding full.
That Chicane pluck is maybe a tad too loud compared to the rest.
Break is awesome with those pads.
Lead synth could use more variety IMO, make it longer/shorter, put a phaser or so over it.
Quality is good.
Nice fx in there too.

Great stuff m8!
