Seen alot of Dj's this year yet but there is one guy who really pops out:

John OO Fleming

Saw him for the first time this Saturday on a rave called Antwerp is Burning in Belgium together with Elof,M.I.K.E. & Armin, one of the most memorable 2 hours in my life perhaps Flawless mixin' and one killer-psy-tune after the other one.

The chances J'oo'F is gonna end up first are square shit, but I hope he'll manage to get a nice spot on the list

J'oo'F for prez !!!!!

Posted by Tigo on Sep-06-2004 23:06:

yeah i agree JooF and Ferry are the better trance DJ's out there. PVD, Armin, Tiesto just dont do it for me anymore..... well Tiesto has never done it for me to bigin with!

Posted by Eagle` on Sep-06-2004 23:10:

Tiesto is gonna pull it down again imo

i mean new album, olympics opening. If there is someone who didn't know him yet, they sure will know ...

he really deserves it. I think hes the best DJ out there. You have to be deaf to not realize that. But since DJ mag is a popularity contest who knows how it will go down.

JJ

Judge Jules:

In Moby's DVD: ''18'', he presents a guy as: RJ the DJ and claims he won DJ Mag 1989 Poll...

OMG!!! Paul Van Dyk never won the award!?

Its understandable that he hasnt won the award recently but over the last 10 years very few stand up to this lengend of trance music. Especially when he released out there and back.

Who the F%ck is in charge of tallying these votes...Jed Bush in Florida

I demand a recount form the years 1997- 1999.

Sh!t they should just give PVD the award this year becuase obvioulsly someone rigged the votes during the 90's.

I feel bad for PVD really.Wow this was a surpise

Posted by Yan on Sep-07-2004 09:10:

Armin all the way this year.

Posted by Tigo on Sep-07-2004 09:13:

man i hope Sasha takes it this year! if not him then either Zabs or Diggers would do......just PLEASE dont tell me its Tiesto!!!

Posted by webbie on Sep-07-2004 09:19:

If Tisto gets it then the DJ Mag and its "poll" is offically shite and should
be buried with all the other shite records that Tisto manages to play just
to please the "easy crowd".

How come DJs like Q bert and Mix master mike or other genres except mainly Trance, house, prog, techno has never made the top ten in the list?

Q bert is very very good. And dun tell me turntablism is easy.

We're still talking about DJ'ing right? When did the topic change to 'GHB consumers award winners history'?

because its a popularity contest not skills wise. its more for who do you like to go listen to. the DMC's are for skills.

personally i find it crap, i prefer the more underground and upcoming DJs, the famous ones keep playing the tunes over and over again, and coming up with shit remixes like taures and Adigio for strings etc.

Stuff like DJ mag ruins music imo. look at mtv awards, people don't give a shit about how music must sound, just money and the award.

I Agree!

Posted by tranceaholic on Sep-07-2004 17:17:

lately i have found myself enjoyin the amateur dj sets more than the big guns..because the big guns its pretty much the same while with the amatures thier taste very and they add fresh tunes or classics or tunes not all that popular but good..i am still a tiesto fan but thats because he is alot of fun to c and enjoyable to watch

have you ever heard anyone from the dmc play, say a 6 hours set?

dmc imo is much more production then it is djing, and i dont think the term 'set' can be applied to what they do

overall, its a completely diffrent ballgame
