That's one point. I also said that I have never liked his music, so he is shit to me. It's called perception. Why get all pissy? If you like him, great, I don't.

Posted by |cEbLu3 on Sep-10-2004 03:05:

well, his music and his djing has just gone downhill since he the Big Beat Boutique shut down. How sad.....

As if Norman Cook gives a crap, he's married with kids and rich as can be and plays gigs when he wants for a extremely high price. So I doubt he really cares and as far as I'm concerned, he will be a legend from mighty dub kats, pizzaman and norman cook's earlier work.

+1

If only for his involvement in "Just Another Groove", I'll always follow his career to a certain extent.

Palookaville wasn't too strong album imho, lots of songs that aren't anything special. But the first track of the album, Don't Let The Man, is just rockin' (partly cause I like Tesla I guess).

why? just because some people dont rate him as highly as you do? I've seen him, and it annoys me that people like him need to get as fucked as he does to enjoy himself. It just makes him look like he couldnt give a shit about the music.

Posted by Dublin Guy on Sep-10-2004 13:17:

apparently he doesnt drink anymore.

tweek, do you like tiesto?

Posted by DJ_Bod on Sep-10-2004 13:53:

So FBS is the only DJ to ever get all fucked up in the DJ booth? If that's what he wants to do, Fuck it, let him.

I like a couple of older FBS songs (Right Here, Right Now) but none of the new crap.

Posted by DannyO on Sep-10-2004 14:25:

I'm not a fan of his, but I do like some of his old tracks, like Rockafella Skank and Going Out Of My Head, there good to listen to now and then, and they are just of a different style, I would never drop them in a club obviously, dunno what his latest stuff is like, don't care either, if I hear it at some time and like it, good for me.

To each there own.

Star 69 and Sunset (bird of prey) are great tunes!

Posted by trewqy on Sep-10-2004 14:54:

I think fatboy slim is a quality producer. "You've come a long way baby" was a class album imo. ALmost every song in it rocked.

He IS in fact the reason i really started to like EDM. Without him, i'd probably think trance is that "same old techno shit that has a squeeky female voice as vocals and a stupid melody". Big beat got me into trance. I think many people share the same experience as me. Had it not been for his album that breaked through the mainstream charts and made the masses realise that electronic music could sound
"un-cheesy"... there wouldnt be a lot of trance addicts right now.

Sure i havent seen him live but still, give him some credit.

I hear women take off their shirts at his north american gigs when he plays a song they like and there are plenty of those. I say legend for that and plus give the man some credit, he has to suffer, he lives next door to crooner Nick Berry.

You've Come A Long Way Baby IS THE SHIZA!!! BEST ALBUM EVER, I DONT CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS.

Posted by TweeK on Sep-10-2004 20:29:

FBS is a legend,nuff said

Posted by NiteMer on Sep-10-2004 20:54:

I don't like his style, but I can't knock the guy. He's innovative, creative, and very talented. I just won't be caught dead buying any of his shit, unless he changes his style. That being said, many people love his style and I respect that.

.....yup.

And even if you like him.....he ain't no 'legend' .....excuse me while I get myself another drink!

Posted by davidclarke on Sep-11-2004 23:31:

yes hes just a typical 'party dj' (and not a very good one at that) - although this is fine. Just dont make him out to be something that he isnt. He'd probably find it as absurd as i do.

Posted by Spacey Orange on Sep-12-2004 01:32:

In other words, FBS is a mass market product when most TA are nich consumers. It's no surprise he may get little respect here.
