No one is more clutch in the playoffs than the Yankees.
El Duque is undefeated this season so far and his ERA is 2.47.
Kevin Brown might be alittle old, but he has the experience that they would want in the playoffs.
Moose, well hes up and down... usually down - If the Yankees should have gotten rid of anyone, moose should have been it.
Javier Vasquez, got a gun for an arm, but hes easy to hit which shows in his 6.40 ERA.
Loaiza was a bust for the Yanks, good thing it was only a 1 year deal.
Lieber has been playing well as of late.
Mo is virtually unhittable in the playoffs.
Gordon and Quantrill are really nice to have as releivers.
Jeter is Mr. Playoffs.
Williams, is an RBI machine in the playoffs.
Sheffield is AL MVP.
It will be difficult to beat the Yanks.
Sheffield is the AL MVP to Yankee fans as of now. He hasn't won anything yet and Manny Ramirez has better numbers in every 'MVP' category. And the Yankees have been good in the WS, I agree. But this is 2004, and last time I checked, this year hasn't happened already. This Yankee team is completely different than any of the past 8 years. With those players, they should have over 100 games won already. Though, the same thing can be said for the Red Sox. I personally would love to see the Twins and the Braves. Though that would be a very boring WS for most people.

I went to Sunday's past game Yanks vs Sox and took the train there...and on the train i was sitting next to two redsox fans who were in a discussion about the rivalry and had said "if a yankee fan says something to me i'll just punch him in his mouth" I just turned and looked at him, didn't say a word. He wasn't this huge big guy, actually he was rather skinny and middle eastern or indian. I mean not for nothing but he was on a train with a mix of Yankee and Boston fans. It was great for baseball, the rivalry between yankee and redsox will never be lived up against in any other sport.
Although I wasn't in the conversation, I don't think the mentality that the person had was necessary. Not to mention him saying "I play for the yankees" in a chinese mocking voice. I brushed my shoulder off.
And my next experience in Boston, I visited some friends at Northeastern and was at a pizza shop wearing a yankee's cap. People got in my face, literally like surrounding me all brave. I'll suck my pride, I took it off and put it in my book bag. I didn't say anything to them, clearly I was out numbered and clearly I didn't want to get into no fight. Now is this all necessary?
Granted boston fans come to yankee stadium, receive alittle heckling in the stands but to what extent outside the baseball game/field should the rivalry carry on? The point is soo moot, its beaten to death, still what is it that Boston is so bitter about? Yes competition draws sharp edges and being bitter about it doesn't help a team win. My point being, and I'm not trying to say anything or start anything, but if Boston loses, why can't the damn fans just accept it? Instead of being bitter, just accept that this time you didn't beat the yankees.
When Boston beats the yankees, our fans dont get bitter, nor do we trash talk or boast about anything. Ignorance is bliss..
on a somewhat related note...
why do fans everywhere but new york riot when their team is in a final of some sort, regardless of result.
should've kept wearing that yankees hat. if u've got love for your team show it. even philly fans don't really try and start something, and this was when i was wearing a giants jersey at school. that rivalry goes a long way too, but it's civilized, somewhat, away from the playing field...
i bet that dude was nothing but a big talker. all u needed to have said was 1918, smiled then kept going on your way. there's no amount of smack or fight that can change that fact.

shamezless bump
"Maybe I should just stay out of these baseball threads from now on. Seems like I'm either ignored or just kill the thread everytime. "

it's just that red sox fans are obnoxious in general
When I was at SBC park labor day weekend, after telling a few of the fans and ushers that I am a yankees fan, they LOVED to go off on how obnoxious and crass red sox fans are when the red sox were in town playing the giants.
its pretty stupid on how red sox fan take it really serious the the point of violence
i remember i was in cancun like 2 years ago and i was wearing a yankee jersey and these boston kids wanted to fight with me over it lol
and whenever boston comes to town i always see alot of red sox fans in time sqaure with shirts and jearsys and no one really bothers them
my friend was up at boston last fall when boston lost in game 7 and he had new york plates he was like yo iam gonna take the plates off my car cause if they see ny plates who knows what they will do
its crazy its just a game these people need to calm down
i mean iam not just sayin its boston fans at all there are some yankee fans and other sports team fans that ge violet but from all the stories i heard its alot of boston fans
cant we all just get along lol
yankee fans are biased and think that red sox fans suck and blah blah. red sox fans are biased and think that yankee fans suck and blah blah. face it... you both suck equally.

very dumb move of him
2marrow i think its gonna be a good game as well
vasquez and wakefield i honesly dont know whos gonna come out on top
but on sunday its shilling and if the yanks can beat him again that would be great

lol yea ok hes not an idiot
boston fans are all the same
just admit he was wrong cause even at the post game interview they asked him if he was aware of his pitch count and he said yea it was like 103 and pedros limit is like 110 i think he gave all he had
after he gave up the he should have started to warm people up but he then pitched to like 2 or 3 other batters and williams and ruben got hits come on he knew he was wrong you had the lead he gave it all he had but he screwed up
Okay. He's an idiot. Boston fans are all the same.
You guys are talking about this and the rively like its a big deal if some fans attack you cuz you got a NY hat on .... come on be a man and stand up for your self .... you are all lucky cuz they dont have the mentality and craziness that european soccer fans have cuz i am sure none of you would dare go out during games ..... i think its great that they have this big ass rively going on s long as we dont see fans going to eachother cities and shooting up people like gangs and shit ..... but when its a series happening hell yes talk smack as much as you can that shows your pride in your team ... and for redsox fans i am from boston and i lived here for about 8 years and i am sox fan cuz i love sports and that just gives me somethign to cheer for ... a lot of you said they r bitter cuz they always bitchwhen they lose and you wanna know something .... that shows that they care for that team and that shows their pride so when they lose and they bitch on about it at least they r sayign something towards other teams and also telling the boston team that they better win cuz they pay their saleries and they wnt them to win ... who doesnt want to win in this world today i wonder .... my prediction is redsox will win it this year but then again what year didnt the sox fans say this is the year
