I dont think Darude is hardhouse or trance. It's commercial dance music. and i hate it =D

Trance without a doubt...even though it may be on the cheezy side it was still a good song before it was killed by overplay.

non of 'em

ahh come on guys!! this is not trance, and not hardhouse!
i'll call it progressive, some of you don't agree, but i think
it sounds like a prog. track! anyway the track is 1 year old i think, so i don't care about it actually...see ya

rave on!

top tunes in november 2001:
1. Jan Johnston - Flesh
2. DJ Tiesto - Urban Train
3. Safri Duo - Samb Adaigo (Johan Gielen & Sven Maes RMX)

Posted by davinox on Nov-24-2001 21:31:

although cheezy, i've always kind of liked it.

quite old now, but still fun to listen to every once in a while.

Posted by bosey on Nov-24-2001 23:16:

paleeese! sad pop and thats it. commercial and not creative in any way - why waste time trying to classify it?!

Top cheeown of the mo:Kosheen - Catch (Grayed Out Vocal Mix)

My opinion = Trance

Posted by ProjectFive on Nov-25-2001 06:42:

progressive ??? you got to be joking my friend,, this is one word "Cheese"

grab a sasha GU CD and that's progressive,,

Posted by Kurve on Nov-25-2001 07:35:

i wouldnt call it Hardhouse at all..... its more in the line of Nu Nrg /Club Trance kind of stuff....hard house has more of a generic beat then Darude - Sandstorm as beleive it or not..... but its a trance tune never the less with some Nu nrg aspects to it ..and mayb a hint of hard house with it as well but majority is still trance the structure of the song ...the build ups and breakdowns are signature trance structure of songs...

Red face

lol, funny thread - couldn't possibly imagine a thread that was started on September 2000 would still be up today..

Well, being a total n00b here, and like all other newbs, i'll probably have to comment on this track one time or another.. without a doubt it is pop music today that resembled trance before.. however, being overplayed and sounding somewhat cheesy aren't reasons for me to hate it.. i mean, i still find PVD's accelerated renditions of this tune from last year quite pleasing

Sandstorm, in my opinion, is definitely not hard house. It's trance and it's mainstream. It lots all it's flavor when the radio got a hold of it and played it over and over and over and then Electric Circus (God help us) played it over and over and over and pretty soon all the non-partying ginos and ginas called it "rave" music and thought they were really cool. Whatever.

Posted by Bizz on Nov-26-2001 21:12:

Thumbs down

Electric Circus... *shudders* I remember they dropped by Canada's Wonderland when i was there once... ugh. I still don't understand how one is supposed to move to some of the garbage they play. All you see is a slut fest on stage and a bunch of goofs on the floor acting like fools in order to get on TV... such superficial crap

If Darude is progressive, then I am god (And last time I checked, I'm not)

Posted by Numb3rJuan on Jan-17-2005 08:54:

Wooohooo! OLD THREAD!! I wonder if any of these guys were smart enough to PM Darude himself to answer this question, knowing that he is a member of the tranceaddict community.

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Jan-17-2005 08:56:

io dont htink darude existed when this thread was made lol

Posted by sensationxtc on Jan-17-2005 08:59:

OR LETS JUST STOP CLASSIFYING EVERYTHING AND LET IT ALL BE TRANCE LIKE IT REALLY IS lol shit you guys make everything so complicated

Posted by Numb3rJuan on Jan-17-2005 09:03:

Funny thing abou darude.. at least when I see him on here.. he only posts commeets defending himself. lol

Posted by mto on Jan-17-2005 09:04:

Its not trance its not hard house. Its bullshit! Darude's newer stuff, while not that great, is way better than this shit track.

Anyways dig up shit from 5 years ago? lol
