Yeah, trance is alive. Finally someone got it right.
And I don't like Darren Tate, I don't know why but I find all his work boring and average.

| Originally posted by basd (warning, may go offtopic a bit) Then you haven't been paying attention to techno for the last few years, kind sir. True, Coxie hasn't changed that much for the last few years, but he doesn't represent all of techno, just as Tiesto / Armin / PvD don't represent all of trance. Right now (or better, for the last year or so) the techno scene has split up a bit, one part getting harder and harder, see Remus, Rush, Amok, Wittekind etc. It's even bordering on hardcore sometimes (Promo spins techno tracks next to his usual hardcore, Luna does hard techno sets, same goes for Dana, and so on..). Other part is going deeper, darker, more minimal. Here in Holland, minimal techno is doing fairly well, labels like Kompakt, Traum and Pokerflat are getting more and more attention. That also the way I'm going at the moment, more minimal, but keeping a groove and loving deep and dark melodies and other elements. Of course, there are still the big name DJs pretty much sticking to their own, well-known sound (Liebing, Cox, Picotto), but that hardly comes as a surprise I'm sure. May or may not be interesting to you, but I had to write it down after that remark of yours |
love that intec sound

Trance is very much alive!!
but the music has change for the last years.
Modern or ''new'' trance are A&B, AVB and 4 strings(yes, I know 4 strings can be a litle cheese, but some of their songs sounds great! Turn it around, Diving, Let it Rain, Take me Away etc etc...)
New trance is: A&B - No one on earth OMG i love that song
Though, I must say I miss old trance like the ITWT and Magik cd's
