James Holden is the man! I wish he toured more here in the US. I missed his set at Ultra because he played kinda early. Oh-well, one day I see the man behind the wheels of steel.

I've been listening to his remix of Accadia - Into The Dawn for the last few weeks over and over again. This track is Progressive Trance at its finest! Its simply amazing. Its really hipnotic and takes you on a journey through a tunnel! Headphone use is recommended with this track and if not, make sure you've got a good sub woofer, because u need one to bring out al the elements of the bass line.

well in.

saw the man with petter last weekend. was top drawer. started off pretty hard, and banging, trippy, minimal, bleepy, technoey stuff. and maintained a druggy vibe throughout. i think hes really a very good dj these days, got a very individual style and track selection.

I looked at the first post and just realized that this thread about my favorite musician was created on my birthday.

And...looking forward to GDJB as well, last I listened to it was when Way Out West was on a few weeks ago.

YES. One of my all time favorites, and also the song that hooked me up to Holden's music. His work really eludes a definition, for at some points it is energetic, but another is remembrant of mystical chants. I always get the feeling of sort of ...trascendity. Music for a voyage.

get his "fear of a silver planet" it's incredible.

as for style i think i read somewhere that he was a cross between acid house, minimalist techno and minimalist trance.

I just call it amazing.

My flatmate just went to see him.. she said he's improved soooo much since we saw him about 15 months ago.

I managed to pick up FOASP on ebay for a whole 11 cents!
