i took 4 pots this week at peoples houses, ranging from $40 pots to 120. At my brothers wedding yesterday we all wanted to get a $50 buy in tornament but we didn't have chips.

for texas, the most popular games are 5/10 and 1/2 no limit...

I recently started playing Omaha Hi/Lo...much more interesting than Texas. Unfortunately the smallest limit is 5/10, so I still got a long way to go before I play at that level

Sal is fighting his gambling problems! haha...anyways Omaha is harder with higher stakes. Hold'em is fun either way you put it, just as long as you are playing with the right people!

I would say omaha is an easier game than hold'em since bluffing/semi-bluffing is a much bigger factor in hold'em than with omaha

less bluffing but more math.........so I dont think you can really say its easier...much harder IMO.

Plus Omaha has very little exposure compared to holdem, so very few chances to practice against different people

so when are we all gonna play! i can't wait to lose all my money!

I just won $250 in an hour at Grand Victoria Boat here in Chicago playing blackjack.

so are we still going to have a NYTA poker game?

it depends some games people find easier and some find others harder.

Assuming you're talking about Omaha Hi/Lo Eight or Better:

1) If there is less bluffing involved, you have a better chance of figuring out what hand your opponent is holding. In Omaha hi/lo, not many people will be bluffing. (assuming a full ring game)

2) Strategywise, omaha hi/lo is A LOT simpler than hold'em. The "bible" of Omaha hi/lo (High-Low-Split Poker by Ray Zee) is only 150 pages long. Meanwhile, there are at least 5 books of hold'em that are pretty much required reading if you want to improve your game. It may be harder to learn how to play omaha, but easier to learn good fundamental strategy for omaha.

3) The hardest thing many people find when they start omaha in general is that you can only use exactly two cards from your four cards to match up with exactly three cards on the board.
