How ironic. Swimming to Mexico instead of out of it. The border patrol won't know how to handle that situation

Yes, you might not support the reason why you would be fighting a war that you don't belive in, but neither do the other thousands of people who are in.

Why would someone risk something as valuable as their life for something they didn't support? That just doesn't seem to have any logic in it IMO.

[*WARNING ON: PRO-WAR PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING*/]

War is not needed. War is for the weak, and simple minded people who cannot use their brains to solve problems. Look at children for example. We are always trying to teach them that fighting isn't the answer to our problems, and that we should talk our problems out. Why does this suddenly change when you become an adult, or in the government?

Notice how the people who are in command of who goes to war (BUSH), never actually shoot a rifle at an opposer during the war; a war caused by him? Interesting huh?

The army is a bunch of puppets listening to their masters tell them what to do, which 90% of the time, is their dirty work. The army is a bunch of hitmen for the boss, but acceptable murderers for some messed up reason.

If everyone refused to go to war, their wouldn't BE a war. Stupid stupid people.

[WARNING OFF/]

These are my opinions, if you do not agree, fine, just don't flame me. Kthxbye.

IMO the best places in the world to live are Berlin, Germany, or Toronto. I'd quite happily fuck off out of the UK to live in either.

Seriously though, what steps would an american have to take to move to another country? Those NZ pics are awesome BTW, I would very much enjoy going there.

I'm thinking that other countries offer a life that is more fufilling then one over here, I'm not too thrilled about chasing money until I die; the greed and corruption I have to deal with constantly is just appaling. The overconsumption, inefficiency, and great lack of concern for anything but greed is just disgustingly popular over here and I want out of it TBH.

I can really understand why someone would want to strap a bomb on themselves and come over here, we are a nation of pigs, and nobody can stand up and admit that without losing all their credibility or worse. All our wonderful ideals have been cancelled out by this complex web of power, money, lies, media, and conflicting interests.

Is the whole world like this, is there a better life for me somewhere else? I'm not saying that this is the worst place there is, just that there are many other places I'd rather be then here.

I don't think the American way of life is for me, some of you other TA's please post more about where yer from.

i'm not up to par w/ politics, and i really don't know when i will be...i think it's very comical actually. i don't know what it is, but i just have a hard time believing anything that comes out of a politican's mouth, simple as that. so i figure why the hell should i follow debates and such...i dunno, i'm sure as an adult (an older adult, lol) i'll start to get into it.

but anyway, from what i've heard, isn't the likelihood of a draft slim to none?

Posted by Zombie0915 on Sep-30-2004 14:45:

yeah a real draft is very doubtful but I wouldnt completely rule it out cuz we really have no idea what is actually happening in the political world.

The big, huge, gaping, blaitant difference is that the people over in Iraq right now VOLUNTEERED TO BE IN THE ARMED SERVICES, BY THEIR OWN WILL. When they signed up, they knew that they may one day be called upon to kill or be killed in a violent war, that they may not agree with at all, and have no choice not to. If you can't handle that idea, don't sign up for the Armed Services.

If you want to go fight a war, be my guest. But don't ever expect me to fight it for you when you know that I don't support it. Isn't that a simple thing to expect in a free country?

Ass

Posted by NiteMer on Sep-30-2004 15:56:

I would go to Oslo, if I were a dodger, because most of my family lives in Norway. However, I think I would stay and defend my country under those circumstances.

yup, and we're a free country because of those people...

i'm not a fan of war, but you can't ignore it. it happens. much respect for those in the armed services doing their thing so we can continue to live in this free country

Posted by Laushinameee on Sep-30-2004 16:17:

I was reading something about the fact that when the Iraq war started, channels like CNN were showing very little of what was actually going on, and opting instead to show entirely biased footage of all these 'amazing' things the US/UK soldiers were doing in Iraq. I feel disgusted that any country needs to lie to it's own people in order to get support - especially ones that claim to be so democratic and to be model structures for the rest of the world.

whoever says ur a pussy for dodging a US draft, is a fucking jewby himself...for one, why would I risk/die for a cause I don't believe in, which in turn is Bush's cause. Two I don't consider myself american, sure i live here, but i didnt come here to fall in love with the land or its people, just to work, now that i see the job market is fucking atrocious and i cant even get a job at comp usa, i will be moving in due time. there is nothing left here, the people are ignorant douches, who get a boner at the though of "USA!1 USA1 #1 USA!" , and to be honest the states are an ugly country, there is nothing nice about it, other than new york city, which is the dirtiest city in the world, but its still cool. ANyway, if the draft does get reinstated, I'll be bouncing to Canada, legally or not, or back home to Poland.

Yeh i think you're right - its the same here, but to a lesser extent i think. People dont want to know about all the murders unless its the murder of a UK/US citizen, or a bomb being dropped on a school or a hospital - they only want the glory stories.

Dude, do yourself a favor and move back right now. I really don't like people like you. I'm not Mr. USA or anything, but hearing you pieces of shit complain about a country you moved to that gave you a job pisses me off. First of all, there's plenty of people who would probably like your job, so don't feel obligated to stay on the account they can't fill your spot. I'm sure you can flip hamburgers just as well in Poland. Secondly, be grateful for the place you're living and don't try to piss on the people that are natively born here. I don't knock Poland with ignorant comments, keep your shit to yourself.

They honestly dont give a fuck about us. They are pissed we are in their country. You would be pissed too if say the UN said "We think that the US is a threat to the world" and invaded and occupied us.

wrong. my cousin came back on leave and he said that 98% of iraqis are glad that we're there, and 2% are against us. many other sources of information supports this.

don't post here anymore, you belong on AOL.

I agree, much respect to them. But in my honest, humble opinion I don't consider Iraq to be any threat whatsoever to our freedom and security (well obviously they aren't now, but I'm talking about prior to this war).

Morally, I can agree that Saddam was a thug and people living under his rule were living a shitty life - the problem is that now that we've kicked him out, they're no better off. I heard on the news this morning about dozens of kids in Fallujia being killed in another attack. The country is a mess over there.

If it came down to it, I think most people in this country would fight to defend themselves. There's a huge difference between some foreign war being fought for questionable reasons, and defending our own liberty.

I'll swim back over the Rio Grande to Mexico

Nah, seriously, I think I'll take the next plane to Spain.
What's the chance of someone with a green card of getting drafted?
