j00f rocked it in sydney, but i guess it was a club set there so that may have been why.

Was mostly driving psy, with awesome buildups, was crazy!

Halliwell has great skills, but he fucked around to much with some tracks and it was starting to shit me as i couldnt get into the tunes. Top scratching, but he had a fair few off beats up here in sydney.

I'll definitely be back!

You should see how it looks in RL or Vodafone arena's ! It is AMAZING to look down on all those ppl ! Try make it over for Two Tribes next year !

Well I had a great night!! Running around like a mad man

was fun. We were pretty lucky, we lined up for all about ten

minutes, and were some of the first ten people to come in the main

room. Steve played very well, did an excellent job or warming

up. the lasers were awsome

j00f was impressive have never seen him before....ive heard he can

be better, but his mixing style is awesome.. Boy

eddie can scratch and work the mixer but he didnt really do it for

me.

Youngs guns room was fun....nice to see all the TA's there. Walked

into see Banassi and he dropped "satisfaction" then and there, was

pretty surreal.

hope everyone recovers well.

*happy birthday soups*

Had an awesome night, running around from room to room and rocking like a madman. Much praise to Mark James and future ent. on a great night. The whole set up was just fantastic.

Steve from what i heard of your set, great stuff mate, got me going, spewing only got to see the end of it.

Really enjoyed JooF's set, fantastic vibe. And eddie hmmmm well what can i say, he just whipped it hard Chris and JPL, it was a pleasure rocking to u guys, as always.

Enjoyed the little TA meet in front of the cafe arena, met some new faces, PDT, Stipsy, Kelsta and Sezzy, think thats it, pleasure meeting u guys.

And thats all.......

P.S. - Sezzy, i didn't get to tickle you

decently good night. good vibes.
line was a joke, body checking everybody? jesus.
fortunately squeezed in to only wait 30 mins.

dang halliwell knows how to rock it, goin crazy with those echo/delay effects and scratching. great interaction. caught stephan aka mumbojumbo for about an hr. groovy. was in my element for a while despite the empty room.

highlight for me = benassi. last half an hr. fuck!
yet another remix of flashdance (i swear i heard the hook?) mixed into satisfaction. fuck!

only heard padula play for about 20 mins, but definitely liked what i heard. anybody know the first tune he played? just before infusion - do to you in 82. love to know!

would liked to have also heard adelaide's mal chia?
but damn that queue.

Posted by djsimulator on Oct-04-2004 09:58:

Yeah Halliwell scatching was perhaps one of the most unexpected things to me in a trance set but he pulled it off magnificantly!!!! Same with adiago for strings...

But so far i havnt heard anyone mention Anne Savage? She rocked the hard candy room and it was an awesome harder vibe you could jump around crazy to, good EQ tweaking and that Zombie Nation remix she dropped was just what the crowd needed

man - what the hell were you thinking - YOU DO NOT PLAY MY FAVOURITE TRACK WHEN I'M OUTSIDE HAVING A CIGGY!!!!

Posted by The_Jolt on Oct-04-2004 10:53:

oh another thing i forgot to include in the other gk thread...

did any body notice that in some of joofs mixes the beats didnt match?

Posted by G`Dave on Oct-04-2004 10:55:

Better to go outside and have a ciggy than light one up in the room. Shits me to tears people who do that, I'm a non smoker and its farkin annoying having to breath your waste when I'm trying to dance.

To top it off I come home stinking like crap, it gets in clothes and everything. Inconsiderate pricks..

I'm done

Anne stuffed up twice in Sydney..
I was sitting in the upstairs section of the Voodoo Lounge then the sound totally cut out...
Then another 5 or so minutes later... it happened again!

Other than that she played pretty well.

Got off to a pretty bad start having to wait an hour and a half just to get in (surely they could have organised that a bit better?) but it was a pretty good night otherwise.

Spent most of the night running between the prog room and the house room. Superchumbo was pretty good, considering the conditions he had to work in. Apart from being called in on 48 hours notice, the room was half empty (like seriously 30 people on the dance-floor at some points) and the sound was pretty hollow and didn't carry to the back of the room. The tough, tribally sounds he was playing out needed a big, meaty sound system and the system in that room was anything but.

Sandy Rivera was pretty awesome too. Started off kinda handbag styles but loved it once he got into the tougher, funkier stuff as the set progressed. Didn't really get into what John '00' was playing (too "epic" for want of a better word) but I think that's got more to do with my taste in music than his skills. All the locals that I saw (Gav Keitel, John Course, Sean Quinn, Chable vs Gough and Jules vs Chris at the end) were every bit as good as (or better than) the internationals.

Would have been better had Sander turned up, but still not a bad night considering.

Well I have to say I had a great night. Was so good to catch up with heaps of TA's and had a ball playing the young guns before Mr Pana and JPL who did a top job.

I think most would agree that the main room's setup was the best looking I have seen in quite a while, so props to future on that one!

I don't think anybody could have asked for a better warm up set from steve strangis, absolutely spot on

Haliwell is amazing but over the top, the effects lose their effect when used so frequently imo, eg adagio for strings build up ( cool for the first 10 minutes of it but than got out of hand.

I have to say that I have always loved j00f but again I think most could only appreciate what he doing rather than enjoy what he was playing, extremely intelligently layered and subtle set, but just not exciting enough for the masses I think.

Thanks to all for the support and a great night

Yes!

Finally someone who half agree's with me. I too didnt think 'that' much of j00f, was still pretty good but i think i had my hopes up a bit high. Headed to Benny and really loved it, couldnt believe 2 hours had passed at the end of it, time absolutly flew.

Anyway, all in all majorly pissed with the line, but overly happy with the night, but feeling the pinch still, 2 days later.

im extremely dissapointed with some of the comments made in here..not so much that people didnt like joof...that comes down to personal preference but writing crap like he played "too epic" is pure tripe..i never knew psy trance was epic...

some of you need to get a clue...why the fuck do i bother posting here anymore....

Dude im pretty sure its
-Goldenboy feat. Miss Kitten- Rippin Kittin (Glove Tension Club Mix)

Gods 2004..
In all honesty didnt compare to last years. Got there in time to see the end of Steves set unfortunately..but everyone i asked said he got the crowd working which is always good..I didnt mind Eddie Halliwell, ive heard a few things about him but didnt really know what style he played. I liked the way he used the echo and how he went freestyle at times..but it just to repetitive and every leadup got dragged got dragged the absolute fuck out of. He played some good tunes and even through in a few classics..loved it when he dropped Sam Sharp - in Deep that sounded awesome out loud.

j00f was next up and didnt mind his style..havent heard many of his sets and wasnt expecting anything to special but he really suprised me.

still seething about Sander pulling out i went to chek out Superchumbo to see only bout 30 - 40 ppl in there..if the vibe was a bit better i wopuld have stayed a lot longer coz he played some decent tribal house tunes..

Benassi in the defected room was also better then i expected but then it got to repetitive and every time i had walked in i heard the cheesy bassline....but then again the women in there werent to bad so it kept me going. really impressed with padula i dont mind my house from time to time and he dropped some funky tunes which the crowd definetly hung around to listen to..i love his enthusiasm on the decks, and his mixing was pretty clean also

cant forget having a talk to mark james in the young guns room..he dropped a few bombs which was good to have a beer to.lol. Jules and Chris done a great job finish off as per usual..

Good to see heaps of familiar TA faces and meet a few more..

some of the non-tanceaddicts may have preffered a few more anthems.

I don't know if he played it in Melbourne but here he dropped a killer Voodoo People remix on our heads. How more hard anthem can you get?

Agreed there. The original is one of my favorite rock songs of all time but this remix is a bit overrated and overplayed.

Not me. He was dragging it and dragging and dragging and dragging. I'm a patient clubber but by the time the beats kicked in I stopped caring. And then, in Metro, the whole thing just dropped and j00f stepped in. Good thing that it was just a start for me.

He did play prodigy - voodoo people - eskimo remix

Eskimo remix! That's the one! Totally the highlight for me (granted, Voodoo People is rated by me as the best track of all time and all genres )

also new astral projection and an astrix track of artcore.

Could you remember the names? I can't.

Me too! It was just before he left for Anne. I think that track was the most trancey track of the whole night. Just showed what REAL trance is about.

Anne went haaard. If you're into hard trance - Anne Savage was for you. After that came BK. Put some interesting classics/anthems there. But mostly his set was hard house which never does it much for me. Benny Benassi wasn't in Perth...
