i don't like the choir pad you used, but i do think you took the right approach if someone was to ever remix such a big track.

I actually like the choir. Hmm, different opinions .

holy rolly poly! get this finished and sent to who it needs to get sent to!

Posted by alexpea on Oct-07-2004 10:36:

The kick is a bit too loose, imo... It should be more punchy Soundquality = superb as always! Hmmm... I don't think I've heard the original, but DAMN this melody sounds familiar... Great production btw

Posted by alexpea on Oct-07-2004 10:40:

Oh, now I know which track it's similar to. "Push - Strange World" !!! The melody is the same... Eh..?

Posted by electrohit on Oct-07-2004 10:52:

...

nice one sunquest..
the sounds are fine and build-ups are ok..
my only argument is that no remix can beat up the original
and that this piece of classic should stay untouched..

Posted by XeQtOr on Oct-07-2004 11:26:

Awesome production but the original is still the one and only..

Posted by Sunquest on Oct-07-2004 11:52:

let the original be that it is the best, however, you cant play the original in the clubs its too old

but u can play the sunquest remix

tnx again for replies

sounds great i like it

Posted by Thunder5 on Oct-07-2004 22:17:

Sounds rather nice...

Posted by Massive84 on Oct-08-2004 04:19:

Review from you, is a review from me , but usually i do your things but there was something that didn't really touch me in this production, lets hear it again.

First , call me crazy, i never heard the original.

Solid Kick , i do like the bass and bassline, finally not a full rolling one.

Mastering is good, and the perc is really allive here, not muddy or drowned.

background fx is really cool.

Ah now i hear what i didn't really like, the synths for the theme, are kinda chaotic imo, i can't really hear the theme (melody).

Choirs are good imo.

Am not saying change, people seems to like it like this, but i prefer some clear synths , especially if it comes to the main melody.

Oh ya, you and your uplifting trance

Sure you downloaded his remix? He posted 2 links - a sample of the original, his remix...

Noticed you posted this on Mike's forums as well, but I've got round to reviewing it now.

Synth in the buildup sounds a bit unclear, but the rest of the build is nice.

I don't know if I'd recognise it as Sunrise at Palamos if I didn't know, only familiar thing is the chord progression. And I agree with others, the main part does sound a bit mashed. But it's not too bad.

All in all good production though Of course it's nowhere near as good as the original but don't take that as negative, I'm a big fan of Mike this is one of his classic tunes, very unique and always fresh-sounding so I don't think anyone can beat it, but you made a fine effort

didn't you touch Tenshi ?
& the result wasn't THAT bad...

nice work Sunquest, i like your remix

Posted by YouthD on Oct-09-2004 09:09:

i think its even better than the tiesto remix on it

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Oct-09-2004 22:48:

Your kick is a lot fatter than the original's. That makes me happy.

Nice sound. Good production.

Posted by Stino on Oct-10-2004 10:26:

plz make the kick fatter, this 1 suxors. Bass seems very flat aswell. The rest is cool

Posted by Plastick on Oct-10-2004 12:25:

This reminds me of how great the original piece is...

Sunquest's Memory Mix: Not bad if were to judge as a track alone, i wont know it's a rmx of sunrise at palamos if not told.
The original of this has so much impact that i will rule out the possibility of saying 'yours is nicer' before listening to your mix.

This is still pretty nice tho

Posted by lagrom12 on Oct-10-2004 20:55:

nice remix

i like it, sounds cool

Posted by JohnOC on Oct-15-2004 12:32:

sounds very solid
synths get a bit drown'd out when it kicks back in. compression on bass 2 high most likely

turn those synths up

Posted by dannyc on Oct-16-2004 01:16:

agreed. elements are drowning each other out. i cant really get the theme. maybe cause i'm more into big synth style tracks. you should probably call this one your own rather than a remix cause its nothing like original, and as others said i would never try remix such a tune. i'm of the belief that some really special tunes should be left alone. another example would be trillseekers synestasia, even ferry corsten should of left this one, dont think he really added anything to original in my opinion.

all in all love the background fx's and its mastered pretty dam good.
keep it up man

p.s. hope to upload my second track in next few days hopefully i can get some feedback from you

Posted by OzTiļæ½sto on Oct-19-2004 05:07:

If it's a remix of Sunrise at Palamos why have you used the melody from the 2000 remake of Strange World? The elements from Sunrise don't really come through in the track much...

Production however isn't bad but the busy parts of the track lack definition for the various elements as others have said.
