Jesus, I didn't even think of it that way. I had those comics, and yeah, what you said makes sense. Damn.

RIP Christopher Reeve. He showed us that he was truely Superman for not letting paralysis ruin his life. Amazing indeed. He was one of the few people who, between his birth and death, made the world a better place.

Heard the news this morning, and I couldn't believe it. Really sad to see a true Warrior go away, but he will never be forgotten. Neither by his role as Superman, neither by his struggle against his paralisys.
RIP

RIP Christopher Reeves, he did so much for stem cell research...

how fucking immature can you be to tell jokes about such a wonderful man who has died? seriously that was lame.

i would always get really depressed when i would see him on TV in that wheelchair barely able to talk, and i wished that never happened to him. he is one of those actors/people who just seemed to have a heart of gold...and he is living proof of the saying that bad things happen to good people. sad but true. RIP.

Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm
Like that, quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no
Junglescape, dumb as an ape doing nothing.

Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank
In the United States, he had the strength, but he would not
Folks said that his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman, he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep going.

Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Tarzan was king of the jungle and lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words: "I Tarzan, You Jane."

Sometimes when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet he was tempted to just quit and turn his back
On man, join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city and kept on changing clothes
In dirty old phone booths till his work was through
And nothing to do but go on home

Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

you guys chill out, not like this is your first time hearing about the death of a celebrity.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Oct-13-2004 02:22:

^ Yeah, that's an excuse for being a disrespectful asshat

I'm not going to try to be high and mighty about this, as I understand that death should be a celebration - laughter and joy should ensue as he is ushered off into the great beyond. But some of the stuff posted here is just plain wrong - very irreverent sarcasm coming from lesser beings who feel the need to photoshop every clever pic they can think of just to impress other's with their ability to connect two like concepts together (read: situational humor). It's really quite unnecessary and if you think it's genuinely funny, then I think you need to get out a bit more.

Christopher Reeve seemed like a nice person, a very genuine human being. I can't say that I knew him personally, but I can still wish his spirit the greatest rememberance possible - to be revered as the man he was to all of us; a major icon for hope in this world. This thread and its numerous denizens that have posted the unfunny pics are yet more proof that the world has a long way to go before we can all be great people like Christopher Reeve.
