Tourists are obviously not coming anymore and theatre is shutting its doors. Downtown on a weekend night looks more like a scene from Juice than the vibrant club area of the 90s. |

Vote Me for Prez or Die...
I gotta solution to take care of the Toronto bums :
Pack em up onto trains and ship em up north. Bears need some exercise too ya know...
While your at it, get rid of da popo's too...they make it hard for me to buy drugs.
Intice the tourists back by offering all the men free handjobs upon landing at Pearson - courtesy of the Toronto Raptors cheerleaders (seeing as they don't have much else to cheer about this season )
Oh...and for the women tourists - a special session of boobie fondling courtesy of the sex starved, TOTA blue-balled male community.
Easy...

Toronto is also getting dirtier, there are more bums thatn ever (and this is not because the city is poorer its because we do nothing to enforce rules) and we have lost the reputation of being a safe clean place to come have fun. Sars wasnt the reason it just sped up what was happening already. I wont say that the smoking law has anything to do with it (yet) but you have to admit that it was a very stupid thing to do to the tourism industry at a time when it needs a boost. (please dont turn this into another smoking debate thread as we have covered that to death) Have we not learned from the experiences of US cities in the 70s? Or are Torontonians too arrogant to realize that urban decay can AND IS happening here? I give Toronto about 10 years before it starts looking like a warzone similar to what cleveland, detroit and washington dc looks like unless we clean up or act now. Sadly socialist mayor miller who we are stuck with for at least 2 more years wont be much help. Time to clean up the city, make the bums go indoors and use the shelters and help that is available already and clear up the traffic mess. |
