listen....Cosmic Baby and Kid Paul together wrote the tune and then produced it.......yet they couldn't agree on aspects of the tune so they both decided to make thier own interpretations of the tune......so both Cosmic Baby and Kid Paul had equal importance in the writing of "Café Del Mar".

when asked, Cosmic Baby is unsure what happened to the masters of the original......but it does exist and that's straight from the source.

it's a rather stupid question anyway as everyone has thier own tastes in music...the Three 'N One Remix lead to it's fame back in 1997/8

There IS an original. One of the very few people to hear it is Grimreaper, I'll tell him to post here when he comes online so that we can settle this.

For those who argue about the existence of the "Original Mix", it does exist or at least did back in 1990 or 1991 (can't remember exactly anymore). I contacted Cosmic Baby himself about the track a long time ago and he said the real original was made mainly by Kid Paul with some help from him. It was made more or less for fun and because they weren't that satisfied about the result, they decided to dump it and not release it at that time. Later on in late '92 due to some requests about it (or some sort of interest) from the fellow producers and DJs, they dug it up from the bin and wanted to give it a second chance by doing their own rebuilt views about it. Finally in '93 it got released with 4 mixes, Kid Paul Mix/Cosmic Baby's Impression/Peace Mix (by Kid Paul)/Porte De Bagnolet Mix (by Ralf Hildenbeutel).

I guess because the real original never got out officially in any format, only a handful or less of whiteys titled as "NR52 - Cafe Del Mar" got out in '91. Kid Paul Mix being closest to it stylewise and soundwise, it's nowadays known as the original version of Cafe Del Mar.

My personal fav is Nalin & Kane Remix.

I am just so fascinated at this whole thing. it just intrigues me that there is so much mystery surrounding this track that has made such a HUGE impact on the edm scene.

Hes doing his own thing, same as always. The thing that changed is the definition of 'trance' - nowadays it means shitty ASOT over the top riffs and silly drawn out breakdowns. Cosmic Baby never did that.
