MFG!!!

Dome is such a bitch club....

Next time when you come to montreal....try the Gravity afterhours....at least people there know what good music is about.....

Its pretty stupid what happen back there at the dome....you should have kick his ass:P

Darude ROCKS!!!

Posted by kate on Oct-19-2004 20:16:

Wow, I'm shocked. That is a totally unacceptable way to treat a guest DJ! As others have said, Darude, I hope you do come back to Montreal and to a much better club than Dome. That place has always been cheese and not worth it for a quality DJ such as yourself. Sorry that had to happen to you.

Ville,

My heart goes out to you. It is reading things like this that makes me almost wish everything would go back underground in warehouses in odd locations when people went for the music, promoters did it for the music and the music WAS ALLOWED to be what it is MUSIC.

It's a sad day for EDM when something like this happens.....I saw you play at IMF in Vancouver 2003 and I for one was really into your live PA set and really didn't care to hear you play sandstorm. I thought hearing how much you had evolved musically was waaaaaaaaaaaay better and if you had just gotten up there played sandstorm and that was it I would have been dissapointed. You played the first Live PA set I have seen and you inspired me to get in the studio.

Just know your music is loved. Sandstorm or not.

Love and light

Mirka

I'm with ya, Ville, sorry to hear what happened, thats utter bullshit, but unfortunately this happens now and then, but its no big deal now, you'll move on to more clubs and more music, and the Dome, well it will just be the Dome with a bunch of wankers runnin it.

Come to Calgary next time, we'll treat ya right, and if you drop a set like that, you'll explode the dancefloor.

Aslo, much respect for takin the time to come on here and explain to fans what happened, more producers/djs need/should do that, would help things a whole lot better.

disrespect, nothing but
really sorry to hear this had to happen
i can imagine something similar happening all across canada and US

Posted by MiHAN on Oct-20-2004 03:39:

Wow, I totally didn't know you wer going to play over here. I would have went, if I knew. Funny thing, my friends actually told me that "there's a *techno* party in the Dome", but I politely denied the invitation Looking at that tracklist proves how much I missed out

To comment on you getting kicked out, I think you don't have to worry too much about it. I respect what you did, and you shouldn't feel bad about it. I just hope this episode didn't spoil your view of Montreal, and you will come back. I'll certainly be there

Yup, this kind of crap happens all over the world, US, Canada, UK, Holland, Australia, maybe not the same way, but you get those bosses that want you to do what they want, when they want it, like your a dam jukebox.

sorry to hear about what happenned in montreal.. i thought that that city would appreciate trance more than small cities like edmonton... anyhow.. on that same note.. your set in edmonton, alberta rocked!!.. i thoroughly enjoyed the set all the way to the end.. and seemed like alot of the other patrons did too!!..hope to see you back soon !!

Posted by MAINER on Oct-20-2004 07:38:

brutal

That club owner is a mofuck u shoulda layed him out!

You deserve more respect. What happened was unfortunate man.....Classy move explaining yourself though..

Mike

Darude, I didn't get to watch your set here in Edmonton, but I heard nothing but good things about it. It's a complete shame what happened to you in Montreal. I hope you don't look at the rest of Canada and especially Montreal negatively for that. That was just that one club over there. If they threw on hiphop after they kicked you off, then they had no idea what they were doing.

Hope you got your money. Look at it this way, you got paid the same for less work.

Terry

Holy Fawwwkkk! Sorry to hear that, Darude! Yeah, when we were in Montral back in early September, some promoter guy from Dome told us, "If you guys like it hard, check out Dome tonight. We've got Motorcycle, you know who that is?"

Yeah, Motorcycle is REALLY hard?!

Wow, that's so brutal, just because they wanted to hear "Sandstorm"?

Posted by Sly_Guy on Oct-21-2004 04:24:

yeah man, that's brutal.
I read an interview a while back with tiesto where he told a similar story about how he was booked in a hip hop club and the owner had no idea what kind of music he played. He said he had the club cleared in under half an hour.
It sucks when it happens, but hell, it's not your fault, and don't let it ruin your opinion on a great party town like montreal.

Posted by djbruuen on Oct-21-2004 04:40:

ok, ville, after seeing your tracklist, can you please god get your ass over to toronto!!! dude, that set fockin rocks...i woulda been dancing like a mother****** if i was there!!! wow, obviously those ppl can't appreciate good music..becuase what you played is pure quality!!! you will be respected in toronto man...if this really was you posting this message, i have great respect for an international big name like yourself to take the time to post such an intreging story. To gain more respect and to classify yourself as a trance artist (which you obviously are as a dj) to get respect on forums like these, why don't you start producing songs like the songs you dj...then ppl will take you more seriously as a reputable artist instead of just a one hit wonder for sandstorm. (btw. i even still like sandstorm and feel the beat lol) they were great songs, and even though the radio ruined them for everyone, they we're still quality...to be honest though, you last album slipped, i wasn't really into that stuff...its time for you to make a rebound you have the name, so now you have to hold on to your position!!!

Posted by KrinKer on Oct-21-2004 05:30:

As much as i don't like trance and i think you're a little cheesy ( sorry i had to say it ... it's not you .. i just don't like what you do )

I do believe that what dome did is Unacceptable, i just hope that you'Ll try your best to let everybody in the business know what happened so that it never happens again to anybody !!!

I've seen the pictures of the dance floor during Darude's set and it was packed! The Dome should be happy such a crowd was brought there, a change from their normal nights (full of underagers might I add)

Being from the other side of the country I've always noticed The Dome bringing in all different genres of music, I know people who have done shows there. They go in, do their hits and leave. Maybe that's fine for a singer on tour but HELLO they booked Darude! We all know he brought the crowd and got them moving, lets hope Dome gets no support...or atleast good quality talent!

****Sidenote: I notice a lot of people mentioning Sandstorm, sure it's been played and played and played again. Of course Darude didn't all all those radio stations and DJ's in the world telling them to play it :P
And you gotta admit you wouldn't walk off the dance floor hearing him play it live would ya? funny how everyone still requests...guess it's a keeper

Posted by Epicurus on Oct-21-2004 06:14:

I like Darude and he seems like an upstanding guy, BUT, I would NEVER request Sandstorm from him or anyone else and I would probably stop dancing if I heard it. Funny how you generalize your own likings...Although coming from a person who's favourite artist is Darude, I guess it's not unexpected

Posted by AlwaysAmber on Oct-21-2004 06:24:

hahaha I only say it because I've seen it enough times before I have seen the crowd go crazy when Sandstorm starts. Personally I'd rather hear new stuff, but I'm only one person in the crowd. Bring on the new album!!

Posted by Epicurus on Oct-21-2004 06:56:

Obviously, we don't go to the same type of clubs...or maybe all the clubs in Vancouver are that bad But seriously, I haven't heard Sandstorm in ANY (good) club...ever...alright maybe in the last 3 years...in my opinion, and also in the opinion of the DJs I check out, it's just way too cheesy

Posted by TrancEuphoria on Oct-23-2004 00:19:

That's just lame!

Posted by Serotonin on Oct-23-2004 03:30:

Hey buddy! you deserve way more respect nice TL by the way!

Posted by Matyeux on Oct-23-2004 04:04:
