Played the trumpet for 7 years growing up. Hated every minute of it. The only good thing that came out of it I will say is a strong background in music which I truly believe helps me when I produce music now.
No, I don't. I have zero musical aptitude.
Revelation: contrary to popular belief, I'm not quite perfect!

turntablism is a musical talent, and turntables are instruments, no matter how vague. what is scratching other than percussive rhythmic sounds?

Alto Saxophone (Just a little)
Wouldn't mind learning to play both Piano and Guitar.
i can play "Flight of the Bumblebee" on my skin flute
I play the Double Bass.
The most sonorous solo insturment of all time. period.
I've been playing the bass guitar and double/string bass for seven years now and i am at apoint where i know lots of songs but if i want to learn a new one i can pretty much just listen and then play it
time+effort=skill, baby!

I started playing violin when i was 3 i think and i've played since then.
since the thread has been resurrected, i've taken up bass again. drums on rare occasions when we fuck around as a band. bass, though, im doing somewhat seriously. orchestrating songs with another very creative person, the lead guitarist, and three talented-enough individuals on drums, keyboard and vocals. we're doing well. four songs, three of them ours, performed at a gig one day after we formed, and it got us another gig.......
yep. that's the status.
Violin: 8 years
Viola: 5 years (yes, i'm a converted violinist)
Piano: on and off for 14 or so years after 2 years of lessons at age 6.
My last concert (I was in the university orchestra) was in Dec 2003 tho.
Always wanted to learn the drums. Someday...
its great to see so many violinist!!!!
i was leaning towards becoming a viola player, but this bitch kept stealing my instrument, so i stayed with the violin
I also play (somewhat) recorder, alto sax, guitar, piano, cello, and theres probably more that i just can't remember right now :P
