I'll see what I can pull outta my ass when I get home. Glad you liked. And yes I thought this was the best out of the three. The bad thing about that is trying to make a better one for VCS004. Hmph...

Hi Steven:

Your mixes have been in my CD player for weeks now. I'm looking forward to hearing more amazing sets from you. Keep it up.

Posted by xler8r on Nov-09-2004 22:24:

Hey, really good stuff. Some sections I like better than others, but all together, job well done. Now ive got to hit up the one you just put out today.

Posted by UWM on Nov-10-2004 15:52:

Just finishing now, mint closing track!

the mix from the intro -> Into Nothing was a bit off IMO, I just would've done it differently. the mix -> science dept is fucking spot on, very very good. overall i'm impressed, great track selection and mixing throughout, keep it up steve.

003 was a great time. I try to be in the happiest moods sometimes when I mix, and in this case things were just going great. The vocals coming from 'Into Nothing' mixing in to the first track simply got everything started. The two records went together so well this rest of the set was driven from there.

Glad you liked and I can't wait til this weekend when I record 004. Expect some Derek Howell for 004 and 005, and quite possibly the same formula as 003 where I end with an ambient groove.

Take care, and I'll see everyone next Monday.

-Steve

PS: Rob, why you gotta be dis'n my mixing style man? LOL, thanks for the comments, it means a lot coming from you.

Posted by TOR on Nov-11-2004 17:58:

ooh, definitely looking forward then to the next edition... Derek is one of my favourite producers

Posted by Sly006 on Nov-12-2004 03:09:

Steve,

These mixes are just simply amazing. I love the chill out prog house groove. That's definitely your sound dude.

I love the opening track in Distance - Desite [Sunrise Mix] on session 001. ANother track that stood out to me was the Subsky track. It was good to see Damien Heck tracks on there as well. African Stomper was pretty unique, and the ending track of session 003 was just sensational. .

Definitely the greatest sets anyone has put on here IMO. I can't wait for Session 004, and for other sessions to come. Will always be listening.

Downloading 002 right now, review to follow

I just listened to the third session, and wow. Loved every minute of it, transitions were spot on, the first track was an awesome intro.

I think our styles are very similiar

Posted by Massive84 on Nov-13-2004 18:42:

I listend to 001 before, was very curious about that Damien Heck tune.

So i read everyone loving 003 i downloaded it also, and now am your fan .

Posted by Steven Hays on Nov-13-2004 20:07:

Thanks all for the support. Massive, I am honored to have you as a fan.

004 is gonna start off with a great mood with some melodic breaks including one of the hottest producers of the moment Derek Howell. I can't wait to get this mix up and going tonight when I possibly will make it. Really keep your eyes open Monday for Session 004, I won't let you down.

Sly-I'm glad you coined my mixes as 'my sound.' Its something I've been striving to do for a while now and I'm glad its reached that point. You have the Armin's, Tiesto's, and Markus', and I always wanted to be different then them. Glad you liked it and I look forward to hearing more feedback from you.

-Steve

just finished listening to 3, i liked many of the songs, and thought the intro was great, all the transitions were really smooth to my ears cept the last one, but good track to end the mix with. really liked african stomper

It's a good mix, Subsky's track is dead on as well as Science Dept. The intro is good too, but I still think Session 001's intro is the best. The ending track is different out of all the other tracks, but it's really good I liked it. It had classical feel to it at one point. Loved the piano.

So did I. I love that track, very unique. Those sounds!

Session 004 is uploading right now. It will be ready in about 1 hour from this post.

Sorry about being late, school is crazy this week and I just haven't had the time to sit down and get this uploaded.

Thanks all for the support. Enjoy some melodic breaks onto some smooth progressive house, and ending with one of the greatest male vocals EDM has ever seen. (With the exception of Amoebassassin - Piledriver (Grayed Out Summer Mix of course ) Nothing too new in this mix. Mainly it was a compilation of some songs I was rummaging through and it came out like this.

Next week expect the pace to be up'd a little and pretty much all new tracks added to that one. Catch me next Monday as I try to top Session 003 everyone seems to enjoy much.

-Steve

PS. Something noteworthy. On the Derek Howell vinyl, in the center is carved, "R.I.P. Adam Spears, So long dude", written by Derek himself. I had the pleasure of speaking with Adam for a little of a month before he passed and he was one of the most talented producers I've known. Such a great kid and great friend. I found it appropriate to inlude another remix of his acclaimed "Crayons" track. Hope everyone enjoys.
