raja ram played flute in a lot of Shpongle tracks if i am not wrong.

although there is a lot of ass licking as most producers frequent the forums, so under every new release there will be "omg this song is excellent" when in actual fact its not.

My tip the next big guns to stamp their name on the scene will be Delta Nuge vs Renegade Peanut these guys are from melbourne

I don't listen to psy that often, becuase it would most likely make me insane. But I do love it, but only every now and then. In my case you can compare it to vodka, it's ok with a little bit of it, but too much will "kill" you

prog and hardtrance kicks more ass than psy tho. But I still like psy.

I can understand that a lot of people don't like psy as its fast paced and mad sounding but it's much closer to the true original trance sound than most ASOT or McProg found today.

Raja Ram and Simon Posford are the masterminds behind Shpongle, one of the most amazing acts ever. They are coming to town in one week. San Francisco. Tickets are completely sold out but I hope to find one somewhere. I might have to kill someone for it.

Raja Ram's most recent project is 1200 mic's which is himself along with Riktam, and Bonsai. More of a full on sound. Their last album was totally amazing.

Definitely true. And in my opinion their new album is not up to par. They are going for more of a mainstream sound and it's just boring. In fact I want my money back. It's cool if a group wants to go for the mainstream. In order to try and hit it big and get a chunk of change to live off of for the rest of their life. Lord knows IM has put in the time, but when you compromise your artistic ability in order to appease the masses, it's lame.

I have to respectfully and completely disagree with you here.

Only stupid people say psy sucks. Or well, maybe not stupid, but slow. Those who cannot catch the chaos.

Ott (like shpongle, just not as sensational. still good though)

I agree with this, partially. I, personally, don't care about the headache I sometimes get from it, and it doesn't apply to downtempo psy.

I'm a pretty big psy fan, but I must say there's lots of boring and straight out bad stuff out there. I can't see what's good about groups like Infected Mushroom, Skazi and Alien Project, that's not good psy in my ears.

Astral Projection, Man With No Name and Hallucinogen are among my favorites.

I just hope psytrance gets eliminated from the face of the earth.

People saying Infected Mushroom are boring, well, I agree that their recent work is nothing special, but listen to "The Gathering" and you'll see they're far from boring.

I've listened to most of their stuff, including "The Gathering", and it didn't impress me at all. You can find loads of psy more interesting than this. Just my opinion though.

I like psy more and more every day. I listen to just as much psy as other trance nowadays. There is a lot of complete crap psy out there that's just really boring/repetitive. There's a lot of crappy trance too though. I tend to like stuff that has some sort of melody, but changes things up quite a bit. My favorite psy is probably infected, hallucinogen, and pleiadians. I just wish some some psy trance djs played in clubs around here.

astral was my first taste of it, now i jsut download anything with a "psy" in the name :P

thing i like about astral (and some others) is the slowly changing "sine wave" effect in the background, which for me gives the music a feeling that it is constantly changing/progressing/evolving/moving - which i fink is really yummy and good.

Psy Trance is great.

Jesus Christ people stop the fucking bashing on every fucking thread. Get off the fucking forums TA has taken such a turn for the worse lately with people soo ready to get on the bashing bandwagon I feel like I'm in a fucking pinata store with the amount of bashing thats going on lately. Lay it to rest. Everyone likes different types of music.

Psytrance is great, and it's especially refreshing to listen to inbetween large amounts of reg. trance.

I love psytrance, the first records I bought when I got my turntables were all psytrance records, my music collection has a lot of psytrance.

Anyone that won't listen to it because its in a genre you have prejudice against >>> Sorry you're missing out :P
