I can't believe it took me so long to listen to this. I think it was like a year ago or something, and boy was I blown away! I almost bid on a used copy of the original release but then realized it was really stupid to spend $100 on a CD.

Would really like to get it if the price is reasonable though.

Got the original one, signed by Diggers as well. What do you guys reckon this baby's worth by now?

Posted by keithos27 on Sep-20-2008 15:56:

20-30 pounds? dunno. thats what they seem to be selling for on discogs.

the original edition (from 94 is it?) in (N)M condition would sell for at least some 70 GBP i reckon on eBay. of course, if it doesnt have any wear etc, scratches on the discs. i think a S&D RMC in such a condition is very rare now ....

usually, a S&D RMC goes for some 20 or 30 GBP on eBay

Posted by _IDS_ on Sep-21-2008 20:37:

40GBP here:

http://cgi.ebay.fr/SASHA-DIGWEED-RE...Q2em118Q2el1247

But yes, today it's very hard to find this CD.

Hm, mine is really well maintained, plus the Digweed signature, I guess I'd come close to 80 GBP. Just curious though, dont even think of selling, maybe in 15 years or so when I'm broke and will need every penny to get my next fix

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Sep-21-2008 20:56:

The original is going as cheap as 1.11 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAISSANCE-M...id=p3286.c0.m14

I have the remastered version, which has a couple of tracks changed from the original. The original was actually mixed digitally, one of its many innovations.

i don't think the digweed signature adds any value to it, tbh

thats the current bid. come back when ther auction has nearly ended. the price will go up then. it will nearly never go for less then 20 GBP, unless its very very worn n torn

Hm I thought it was logical that it added some "uniqueness" to an already rare piece of compac disc. Whatever, it's a nice thing to have

I'm sure it will. I think the value is pushed up not by its rarity, because there are always copies going for sale, but its status as a classic. I had to pay a similar amount to get the double-disc version of Northern Exposure, which isn't rare but everyone talks about it.

The second Renaissance Mix Collection is usually cheaper, even though it's a bit harder to find.

indeed. most of these mix comps arent rare, theyre just must have's. i still need the original NE1 and S&D's RMC from '94. i already have the 10th ltd. anniv. edt of RMC, but the original is a must have.
and i think having all these 'well-known must-have mix comps' is a 'need' nowadays for any EDM-lover. its like being being a Christian without knowing nor owning the bible (i personally think S&D's RMC is the bible and Magik 6 is one of the contemporary Psalter's or songbook, next to e.g. NE1)

lol you really love your mix-comps.
