you checked out his "Breaks from Australia Mix CD" ? Pure sweetness -- i'd compare it to Freelands "Tectonic" in how well it represents progressive breaks.

If they do bring Phil K they should team him up with another fellow Aussie in Kasey Taylor. Both these guys can drop everything from prog breaks to trancey progressive to slamming prog house.

That was back when Turbo was the JET.. probably one of the best set's I've ever heard.

yeah Dave the Drummer was there .. can't recall if Dave Clarke spun at that Red Light District party.. i believe that was for Valentine's Day

I think one of the great things Boa has done is insist on bringing in up and coming talent. Obviously the heavy hitters dont need to be named, but the dj's like Demi, Sean Miller, Chus & Ceballos, etc. are the ones that stand out to me in the first year. To continue the trend, im going to add a few to that "up and coming" list and hopefully Carey can do his best to make it a reality and not a wish.


Hi-Fidelity Saturdays:

Mark Knight & Martjin Ten Velden - Definately the leading contender in my books. Their sounds can already be heard at Boa on a regular basis with residents spinning their productions on a regular basis. Just one listen to their Essential Mix from this year will convince you that these guys NEED to be heard, and witnessed at Boa no doubt. Sean Miller is a perfect complement to these guys, since they actually reminded me of him the first time I heard a mix from this duo.

Behrouz � Havent had the chance to check this guy out live, but judging from his various releases and live sets available, his sounds would be a perfect fit for Boa. Alongside Nevio and Dave Sol would definitely be a perfect match.


Chemistry Fridays:

Dj Mini � Had the chance to hear this young lady spin in Montreal and what a treat it was. Electro infused beats, very unique sound. I think she�d be a great guest for a Chemistry Friday event, particularly alongside Kick, and Coleridge.

Plump Dj�s � Ever since I listened to their �Elastic Breaks� mix back in 2003, I�ve been hooked. Im not even that big of true breaks fan, but I absolutely love what these guys do behind the decks. Very uptempo, chunky tracks that would just kill that system! Along side Robb G. upstairs would be pretty sweet.

I would Die to see Lawler, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, and Dave Clarke at BOA..

That would make my life complete... well just about

EDIT: Dont forget to bring Danny T back... and maybe get Boy George

SISTER BLISS!!! It's been years since she's been here, and she just about headlined every major festival in '04. She would be great at Boa.

I'm gonna mostly stick to 'housier' choices of DJ's, as I know Ronny can't stand the techno .

*Cassius / Thomas Bangalter / Together- whoever it was that played at the Guv inthe Gold Club lounge that night was completely off the hook!

But, if I were to pick some techno or trance...

Honestly, a DJ like Cox doesn't seem to be a perfect fit for a small-medium size club. Techno in general seems to be a type of sound you need at least 2000 other people to get maximum satisfaction (or maybe that's just the way i feel *shrugs*)

House, Breaks, Tribal, Prog i can definately see being enjoyed in a smaller venue. Trance like Techno i'd rather see at a club where there's just a sea of people (mmmm, like a certain Guv club that's around here)


Dunno about DJ Shadow...I like some of his stuff, but i don't know how many people are into that sort of Trip Hop meets experimental breaks sound. I'd hate to see people boo the man cause they expect some hardcore beats...still, he deserves a platform considering how widely he is respected.

And if Dave Clarke wouldn't even get on a plane to Canada cuz his agent could only find him 2 promoters willing to pay his $12,000 fee (instead of the 4 he wanted), I say Mr. Clarke can stay home.
