You know, I somwhat agree on his performace ths last time he came around. But IMO, he is still better. His NYE sets are absolutely amazing. And I really dont think other DJs have the skills he does. He is pretty much flawless.

Haha, funny shit, Bas. Fuck Tiesto, off with his fucking head! And it's a shame, M.I.K.E.'s not on the list anymore (show's how people's taste have declined dramatically--in a negative way.) But I am happy with one thing, though, more techno-DJs on the list! Adam Beyer, Liebing, Umek, and my nigga Mauro all made it.

You right refugee... Techno DJs are awesome. Several techno DJ's, climbed up the ladder A LOT. Chris Liebing was the highest climber at #23. He jumped 65 positions.

The Top Techno DJs I recognized (based off this list - some play multiple format)
1.- Carl Cox
2.- Chris Liebing (+65, #23)
3.- Eddie Halliwell (-5, #25)
4.- Mauro Picotto (-10, #27)
5.- Sven Vath (+7, #34)
6.- Dave Clark (-6, #37)
7.- Marco Carola (+58, #42)
8.- Laurent Garnier (-16, #45)
9.- Jeff Mills (-8, #47)
10.- Adam Beyer (+15, #50)
11.- Umek (-10, #55)
12.- Fergie (-35, #5
13.- Marco Bailey (New Entry, #96)

Damn, once you start getting onto #60 it's mostly new entries. I don't recognize most of them

no shit, those other guys may be good in their own right... but sasha would own that top 3 any day of the week and this is coming from a long time pvd fan but sasha is unstoppable

If Tiesto is anywhere in the top twenty; that just goes to show how "accurate" this list is

YEA!! TIESTO #1

Posted by liquidmist2001 on Nov-01-2004 07:01:

booooooooooo fuck tiesto.......

here's my top 3 trance DJs, i have a few other favs...but since this is a "popularity contest"

1. pvd
2. ferry
3. armin

Posted by bas on Nov-01-2004 08:52:

bah im still angry ...is there some kind of petition we can sign that will just take tiesto off the ballot?

Posted by Xtracktor on Nov-01-2004 09:28:

I know I am going to get flammed...

damn, well I gotta admit tiesto isnt pumping out the same as he did before, but taking it into consideration on how many world tours he did this year, not quite shocking on how much more "popular" he has gotten. My favorte sets(Magik 6+7) and even favorite track(suburban train) of all time still belong to him so thats the explanation for my support on Tijs. Also, from my pathetic club experience (Turned 18 this year) Tiesto has been the most influencial on the crowd, he dances, smells moves, points, laughs, uses vinyl as a fan, the guy keeps the spirts high! Well just my 2 cents and why I voted tiesto 2004

PVD and Tiesto would always be on top 5. They're the one who pioneered trance.

All i know is markus hasnt even headlined, nor has he played in that many countries, and he is already 32. wow. to me thats amazing. as for tiesto at number 1. he had to be. i mean the man played at the olympics, if he didnt get it, then the list itself and its value would have gone down. besides with countries like south africa having the most votes this year. its easy to speculate that a foriegn country like south africa is going to vote for the dj they recognize. and thats teisto.

Posted by bas on Nov-01-2004 20:03:

what about Dave Seaman? he did a global underground tour in S. Africa, they love him over there. i say its all a clever ploy by the government to make the netherlands a more powerful country.

Posted by Zokle on Nov-02-2004 20:14:

=[=[ FUUUCK dont tell me he's #1 when he's really not!!! FUCK.....man PVD totally deserves the #1 spot...

Posted by JebusX on Nov-03-2004 18:32:

They are both awesome.

Posted by Navi on Nov-05-2004 21:31:

Smiley DJ

How about Christopher Lawrence jumping up to #7. good to see an American DJ get some of that top 10 recognition.
Can't wait to see him at Avalon.
