i believe that when you work out, you should establish a rythm. if music helps you do that, wheither it be trance, techno or other, all the power to ya. Also, everyone has emotional attachment to specific songs. lets say, for example, that you've just broken up with you're girl friend and "your song" was... gamemaster. you're listening to gamemaster, and your workout is going to change completely. Your emotional reaction will change your tempo and everything. so yeah, its all depends on your emotional attachment to the song your listening to.

i have trance on all the time when i workout, cant go workout without it.
Awesome.
I've been doing cardio for a couple of years now and have tried to engage in discussion about this here on TA but haven't been successful on this subject before...
I put A LOT of effort into bringing the correct music to my workouts, because I know that if I manage to do so, I will be a lot more efficient at hardcore cardio exercises (and they are more fun).
I'll return with some more listings in a couple of days, but here is my latest mix of energy packed trance and other electronica, that I listen to to achieve maximum heart-bpms(a peak of 195) and a much more enjoyable workout: The idea is to match beat-per-minute to each step (at least when running). With this little list I've whipped up here, you're able to do exactly so
01 - Future Prophecies - September (I did a 3000meter today in 11:51 without a warmup, only with this one, this one is an energy-monster!)
02 - The Prodigy - Music Reach 1/2/3/4
03 - The Prodigy - Voodoo People
04 - The Prodigy - Ruff In The Jungle Bizness [Uplifting Vibes]
05 - Tin Tin Out - Twm [Jamx And De Leons Dumonde Remix] <- Another energy monster, this one totally blows me away when the takeoff sets in
06 - K90 - Into The Future [Original Mix]
07 - The Prodigy - Full Throttle
08 - Nip Collective - Moments Of Decision
09 - Formic Acid - Eternia <-- makes you forget everything around you
10 - Trance To Dance - 155 BPM
11 - Sequential One - Hands Up
12 - John'00'Flemming aka J00F - Essence Of Life <--take off is a little far into the tune, but when it hits, omg.
13 - Dumonde - Never Look Back
well, enjoy
Interesting study m8
