I'm just disseminating the truth

And, for example, why the rest of the middle east hasn't exported much of anything except hate and oil in the last few thousand years. Even oil wouldn't be getting exported if it weren't for Western science and technology. |

Nope. Is it because of their imperialist aims to steal their land? Show me the conquesting armies mowing down villiages and taking over cities in the name of establishing American or Israeli colonies. Can't? Thought so. |

Very interesting "speech"
It is very scary that the US Media is catering to the Bush doctrine...The CBC show "Passionate Eye" will air a special on the fact that the US media hasn't delved deep into WHY the Bush administration is choosing this course of action...One White House reporter stated it best that the US media "is in a coma"
.Last nite on the "Passionate Eye" was the story of a military family & the loss of their son in Iraq. The mother is a school teacher & researched reasons why the US is in Iraq and other facts about the Bush administration...It was a very good special.
As for Osama & this video coming out NOW just before the election well I think its tactical.Osama WANTS Bush to win because Bush admited a while back that Osama isn't a big interest anymore.Anlike Kerry who, if he wins, will devore more energy & manpower to locate & kill Osama & other Al Quaeda terrorists in the Afguan border OR even the Iraq/Iran border...
Here's hoping that Kerry takes it on Tuesday

Basically, all those djs that are of middle eastern or origin (or Persian in the case of Iran ie deep dish, learn your geography folks!
). They did not become big djs and producers by throwing parties at the local falafal shop or schwarma hut in the centre of Tehran, Peshawar, or Kabul. They all come from the US! At least in the case of Filo and Peri and Deep Dish.
The Middle East at one point in History was the source of reason, progress, and technology while Europe was steeped in religious fundamentalism...hence mesopotamia is considered to be the "cradle of civilization." However, at this point in time, it's irrefutable that the Middle East is currently the toilet bowl of civilization. OK OK! I'm just kidding, I'll leave my extreme language at the door. But let's put it this way: The whole of the middle east combined has the same Gross Domestic Product as Belgium and Holland. Each year, more literary works are translated into Spanish than were translated into Arabic in the whole modern history of the Middle East.
For those of you that cite examples of stuff going on in academics in the middle east, that's great...but ever notice how so many of them come to America, Canada or Europe to advance their studies? Also, I agree that the reformist movements in academia in Iran for example should continue to be supported by the West. Also, the one traditions of Islam(can't really spell it), "Ishdihad(?)." This component of Islam has been associated with reason, debate, and progress. Currently, it's absent from the dominant forces of fundamentalism that seem to grip the region.

Holy fuck ladies i think someone in here rode the short bus to shcool.
PS peshawar is in pakistan not the middle east.
since when do we judge a society's succes or validity by their musicians?? "what good djs ever came out of the middle east" well fuck me then what does that say about canada, we produced avril fuckin lavigne and celine fuckin dion.
as for your racist bullshit about how western civilization answers to some sort of a moral guideline?? where the fuck was the US morals when they vetoed Rwanda, or when they "went after the invisible weapons of mass destruction in iraq" the only weapon of mass destruction i have seen is US foreign policy. i dont condone the sept 11 attacks, in fact i am appaled but FFS when you use the world as your private urinal and kill countless inocent civilians. do the math dipshit some one is going to piss in your pool evenutally.
so drew factor, or should i say hitler, take your shitty theories and fuck off.....
Shit head? Hitler? C'mon guys, I haven't said anything here to warrant such vicious personal attacks.
Nothing I am saying here has anything to with racism or bigotry. It's not a slander to muslims, or arabs, or anyone. All these issues about djs from the middle east (or more accurate from arab and muslim countries) and shawarmas and whatnot are peripheral to the issue. The issue is the ideology. Take the fact that many deep dish come from Iran. Their talent or their success has nothing to do with where they're from and everything to do with the society that they are allowed to freely express their creativity. The muslim world, as it now stands, is steeped in religious fundamentalism and rigid theocracy. This society stifles the human spirit, breeds hatred, and and is totally anti-progress.
None of you can tell me, that when that world and the Western world (as flawed as it is, and as flawed as America is), that somehow that system is equal or better than Western Society. Remember, this has nothing to do with race, it has to do with what we VALUE. A society that values freedom of the individual, or a society that enforces theocracy down your throat. A society that values capitalism (ie. human productivity and achievement), or a society that values nihilism. Make your choice.
So, after browsing through a bunch of threads also on this forum, replete with discussion about bible thumping, gun wielding rednecks, people foaming at the mouth about bush..all sorts of slander towards the American people....and yet, when I articulate a solid rational argument about the very culture and ideology that seeks to destroy us......I get called a short bus riding shithead nazi! lol I don't even think Jayx1 has earned that title.

i dont think that muslim countries stifle artists creativity to the lengths that you are speaking of. alot of these countries have a rich musical heritage that comes through in the artists of that country. i think your confusing freedom of creativity with comercialization. these countries you speak of (middleastern) dont have the fully developed music industry that north america and europe have. just because they dont have alot of published works from this area doesnt mean they dont exist.
i have never been to the middle east, and im quite certain you havent either, but i think that if your going to even come close to winning this argument you might want to visit sometime and gain some first hand intel into the music scene. vast generalized satements dont hold up too well.
good luck,
ps dont forget your lunch on the short bus...
nightlife is deeply anchored in the middle eastern way of life simply because during the day people cannot do much because its way too hot.
so at night, they gather and listen to music, dance, eat and drink.
Its not because you never heard of big artists coming out from there that there isn't any. Music is very alive and doing well over there, its part of our lifestyle. And Arabic itself is a litterary language more than a scientific one, the best poetry out there were written in Arabic.
I am very excited to go back there really soon to check out how people are doing and having fun. It will be fun to witness.
And you know, I have witnessed here in Montreal that alot of promoters and club owners are from the middle east, because maybe without fully knowing it they brought with them the need for a nightlife.
