kiss on the cheek. i don't really like to, i only do it on a need to basis, like if they go in for one, then i'll do it. otherwise, "hey what's up", is plenty for me.
w/ the boyfriend however, i could hug and kiss all day
you're so whipped now it's making me nauseous.

Aww don't cry just because I manipulated one of your quotes after you did it to me.

i'm gonna manipulate my fist to your face.
The second day after the hard partying usually does bring out these negative feelings!
Female, Canada (these go for either gender)
Meet people - Handshake
Meet with friends - Usually just a wave and a hello, sometimes a hug
People I know well and have probably slept with - Hugs, a kiss or two
Ive never seen someone kiss someone that they arent having sex with, or planning on having sex with at some point.

Here, in Lithuania, when a guy meets a guy we shake hands (and very rare - hug), when a girl meets a girl they hugs and kisses each other, when a girl meets me(or any other guy they know) we hug and kiss each other in a cheek or in lips (sometimes).
Cheers!
Chicks want hugs all the time here. Maybe a kiss on the cheek if the situation is right

| Originally posted by JM yeah thats my story. sometimes, we men do the manly bonding "man-hug" with the sort of handshake/pull close/pat on the back type of deal. i grew up with the whole idea of 2 kisses on the cheek when you know people... i think thats kinda cool though, for where i'm from, but not here in the USA. >JM< |

| Originally posted by Lira How common is kissing and hugging where you live? Not between lovers, but socially. For example, here in Brazil usually when two girls greet one another (or when a guy greets a girl), they give each other one, two or three kisses on the cheek. Hugging is not uncommon, and it's not hard to see good (male) friends hugging when greeting or congratulating. I know this is not the same way all around the world - kissing between friends seems very weird in the USA, meanwhile I've seen Russian girls kissing each others' lips whenever they saw one another; Japanese people don't seem to be fond of physical contact either. So, what is it like where you live? |
interesting thread by the way, here it is "kissing" between girls or between a girl and a guy, between 2 guys if it is family (at least me), otherwise "shake hands". I knew a girl from Lituania, in her country kissing is very rare and she was surprised coming in france, but she accustomed fast
...in fact it depends on the culture.
