Originally posted by NeoPhono It's a sad day for American democracy. The day after the highest number of voters in 40 years re-elected their president with both the popular vote and electoral college vote, democracy is on its last limb in the US. Its horrible to see such a large number of citizens make it their responsibility to go out and vote. Only in such a backwards and horrible nation like the US could so many make it their duty to voice their opinion at the polls. And to think that the results of the election weren't swayed in the least by the overwhelming number of nations that didn't like Bush really makes me question America's stance as an independent democracy. It's a sad day for American democracy.

We went out and voted and Bush won. There is nothing un-democratic or wrong about that. In fact that's how a democracy works! If anything, I'm proud that this country decided to make its own decision instead of looking at the wishes of others to order its vote. This was an example of democracy in action, and anyone who says otherwise needs to re-examine their definiton of democracy.
FFS, and for the last time, he was being sarcastic in his first post. It's dripping wet with sarcasm. What the hell is wrong with people's perceptiveness...Or is it just you?

ShadoWolf, your two consecutive posts have no relation to each other. One talks about a dutchman murdered for speaking out about Islam and the other is about ethnic fighting in China where Muslims were involved. I'm sure the radical muslims in Holland weren't remotely related to the fighting in China involving an ethnic minority of Muslims. Based on these isolated incidents, you cannot make a general statement that Muslims in general are bad because they have communities elsewhere across the globe and murdering and fighting is not the norm. I suppose you haven't taken any logic courses in college.
