this remix is absolute crap! horrible remix all in all.

the original is fucking brilliant and i've loved it since the first time i heard it, but this remix totally ruins the tune!

Posted by tc-fan on Dec-23-2004 01:33:

i see alot of people here dont like this mix...i love it alot..cuase its sounds DIFFERENT.....

Posted by Tenshi on Dec-24-2004 22:03:

i loved the whiteroom but i think this is a very weak effort...the original and dyyni remix are amazing though!

Posted by [Oliver Noir] on Dec-26-2004 08:52:

still dont like the remixes! sometimes it makes no sense 2 remix an decent tune imo

Posted by InTranzd on Dec-26-2004 18:23:

I don't find this remix is that terrible...
mind you it's been awhile since I've heard the older mixes...

I think many people's negative reviews are based on comparison with the original...the remix itself is not a bad track.

Posted by Ben_Lei on Dec-26-2004 20:03:

I love it, I love it, I love it !!! To be honest, never heard the original

The point is that people should stop remaking the classics which don't measure upto the standard and come up with their own innovative ideas, taking peoples timeless favourites and remaking them in such an awful manner like this is will only alienate us further from them

I heard this remix before listening to the original and I really enjoyed it. Now having heard the original I don't really understand why people get so freakin aggravated by this remix. People have different tastes so why shouldn't a tune like this be remixed? If there is ONE person who likes the Whiteroom remix better than the original, that means Whiteroom have done ONE person happy. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Call it crap as much as you like, but why bother trashing it like it's a personal attack on everything you like? If people enjoy it, what harm does it do? It turns one of your favorite tracks into something you don't like, and so what?

Seems like some people feel the need to use all their artillery just to state an opinion, when you easily get your point through just by saying you don't like it and why. Some of you makes it look like everything done by this and this is a trancekiller. What am I missing here? I don't mean to be the forum-police with this, I guess I just want to understand why. If someone remixed one of my alltime favorites into something utter shit in my opinion, I can't see why I would care. How about "GOOD FOR THOSE WHO LIKE IT!".

I hope I'll get a reply by one of the offended ones here, and just to be on the safe side, if you feel this is relevant;
I'm not new to trance, but no, I haven't heard a lot of it from 92-96 or whatever. But I've been totally addicted since 97, and edm has always been my favorite genre, and probably always will be.

The point is some people have a hard time just sitting by watching something so dilapidated, formulaic and devoid of creativity as this get so much praise, since it most likely will result in even more crap like this being churned out in order to please the masses. It drags the whole genre even further down into the mud than it already is (if it all possible).

garbage, unnecessary remake of a song that I liked before. Even my own remix which I posted ages ago in Amateur productions is more listenable

It's about time people stopped fucking with the oldies, and made their own stuff all the time, if they're short of ideas then they should just quit but the majority of producers we all respect had to do it the hard way, so why shouldn't this generation

A remix is another artists interpretation of the song. Some just do it to make a quick buck but a lot of artists just want to take a stab at a classic track, one that maybe helped them even get or stay listening or producing this type of music.

Posted by Stanza on Feb-21-2005 01:43:

^^^ Agreed. We're talking about standards here and this remake is a typical example of a classic track is being ruined by such a piss poor job.

I had a listened to this and I was not impressed at all

Ok, so it's about the fact that this is different from the stuff people (the offended) used to like, and that more and more of it is produced, and less of what you want? I guess I'm starting to grasp the whole trance 'evolving' argument. And damn am I glad I'm on the side that's capable of enjoying at least some of these changes. It would probably feel a little worse if I didn't have my progressive house or/and "McProg" to listen to, since I don't listen a lot to the ASOT kind of trance.

Does this make me a newbie when it comes to trance? I know nothing about producing, so I might not be able to appreciate the quality, or none-quality, when I hear it. I do this: listen to it, like it - it's good. Does it have to be more advanced than this? It would probably be ok to have the vocabulary and knowledge to analyze a tune down to all the smallest parts. I wonder if this would change my taste in music. If it would, and turn me into one of you 'haters', I'm thinking ignorance is bliss, newbies wins!

I think I understand the point though, because if stuff I like were to disappear - or turn into a genre I totally despite i.e. eurodance or whatever, I would cry as well.

Sorry about the OT ranting

You enjoy it good for you, they don't enjoy it good for them.

A lot of the seriously anal people must have a hell of a time enjoying a lot of music.

It's the fact that what they liked is getting replaced with something so vastly inferior in every single aspect that pisses them off, and also that the reason this happens is cos it sells more and has more mass appeal.

Fair enough, thanks for your answers.

No problem. And I'm not anal, I'm just critical.

Orig 7/10
Whiteroom : 9/10

I love this remix brings up the melody nicer than the orig imo

Posted by NiteMer on Feb-23-2005 16:58:

Well, on the bright side, I never bought the original and this might lead to a re-release.
