expired meds yummy.
I am currently taking Effexor (150mg a day) - prescribed to control mild depression and panic attacks (which unfortunately are not so mild). Initially I was taking them for around a year and they worked very well. On my doctors advice, since I was back to full health, I gradually reduced the dosage and eventually went off them altogether. Everything was going well for the first 2-3 months but then, health wise, I went straight back to square one and had to go back on them. I have been taking them for 2 years since this and to a certain extent they have worked but I have tried to come off them a couple of times though the feelings of depression and the panic attacks have always came back. My advice would be to never get involved with any anti-depressant (I have been on two different ones - neither have worked well) as they don't "cure" the problem and they are extremely difficult to wean yourself off. Go to a doctor and tell him that you want to see a therapist and talk your feelings out - it does help. Medication does not seem to be the answer as no-one I know who takes anti-depressants have benefitted from them. Fight it naturally if you can. It's very difficult and it might take quite a while (you may always have it) but I think it's the best way.

This thread is a proof that TA hurts your brain... look at all the people who posted that they take anti-depressant drugs... Maybe I should go to the doctor and tell him to prescribe some anti-depressants, just to follow the trend

Id still like to hear from more people who think that drugs are a nice solution to treat the symtpoms, but when you take the drugs away, the underlying problems are still there. It's ridiculous to think that this only applies to "illegal" or "illicit" drugs, but that perscription medications are ok. I believe that any chemical you take into your body is a possible catalyst for addiction, not just the "bad" drugs...
