I'm extremely disappointed at how the unofficial news of something like 10pm-8am @ Bell Center ended up being 9pm-3am @ Cepsum. I knew at least twenty people that were going to go to this event for sure as soon as it was announced. After the news it was at the Cepsum came out some people were unsure about it, but after the time slots came out everyone I know isn't going anymore, including me.

My two cents.

I'd like to add I've always been supportive of Aria, Jfl and all the staff related to Aria. I'm not trying to diss them or anything but I'm guessing the decision of time and location must have been made due to other factors.

Posted by Biggy on Nov-12-2004 00:11:

Kendo, you should not react like this.
I don't want to convince you but I will explain our decision to do the party until 3h00 and at the CEPSUM.

1. There is many big parties 2 weeks after the Tisto party for December 31st.

2. People don't have that much money during this period of the year due to Christmas and closing the night at 3h00 can cut the ticket price of 30-40$.

3. CEPSUM is a awesome venue and since 2000 it was impossible to rent it,now we have the chance to rent it again so we jumped on the occasion.

4. CEPSUM is the perfect size of venue for this kinda of event.

5. At CEPSUM the sound quality is very good.

6. Many people have exams at school and don't want to go out until 8h00 in the morning.

7. Why people can't enjoy Tisto in a big show with big sound system and a crazy lightshow just because the show will close at 3h00?

8. I am asking myself if these people really need drugs to have fun?

9. I enjoy myself at every normal shows at Bell Center, Metropolis, Club Soda etc... even if it close before 3h00, why it is such a big deal?

Posted by RnakR on Nov-12-2004 00:20:

well you know biggy that drug is quite an important factor...

in fact a lot of people are complaining and wont go anymore... ( i dont talk of you kendo )

BUT...

a lot of people that are not on the forums that wouldn't come will now go..

Posted by Kendo on Nov-12-2004 00:28:

Biggy,

At no point did I say the venue would suck or no one should go. I'm not trying to give negative advertimsent for it. I'm personally just disappointed since it changed from the time slot @ Bell Center to Cepsum. Personally I have nothing against going to Cepsum but I want an all night/day party o>_
I've been going to Aria since it's opening and for the past 6 months I've gone OVER once each week on average, even on the normal resident nights. One of the reasons why the Docks never appealed to me were the hours of operation.

Posted by Biggy on Nov-12-2004 00:30:

I know that you are nothing talking shit Kendo, I am just giving my points.

Posted by habsfan on Nov-12-2004 00:38:

looks like I'll be poppin a little early

Hey, at least we won't have to deal with bright daylight when we walk out of Cepsum. And it is a good venue. I went for Connected 2001. No problems whatsoever

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-12-2004 01:24:

I LOVE the fact that this is only going until 3am. Finally I can party drunk =P

Posted by ZinG on Nov-12-2004 01:36:

This event is as close as an example of a Tiesto in Concert in Holland..
The venue is perfect (i went to connected 2001, it was a perfect party)
The capacity is logical for this kind of event.
And it finishes at 3am, usually in Holland it finishes at 5am so that's close enough!

Regardless of the timeslot, location, alcohol factor etc, the place is still gonna be jammed! I think moving the slot earlier allows even MORE people to come rather than having it from 2am-8am. So I think it's not such a bad thing.

On the other hand, it's going to be weird leaving there at 3am on a Friday night. Tiesto at Living was on a Sunday night and only finished at 4am, so most people had work/school the next day and hence went to bed.

This is a FRIDAY NIGHT! Most ppl going to Aria on a weekly basis only start to consider going at 3! I hope you guys have a good plan for Aria afterwards, cuz I'm sure you'll be able to attract a large crowd! Who will be spinning after!?

I went to CEPSUM for a Korn/Incubus concert BACK IN THE DAY (1998), and the sound was meh, decent at best. Not trying to complain, Im sure this show is gonna be SICK SICK, just stating my experience.

i just got my tickets, and i'm bringing 13 people there with me

i'm still promoting good events for free

i'm pretty sure that the preparation of that event was crazy but you finally did it. congratulations to the crew! I hope to meet you all there.

Yeah seriously ... Whats happening at Aria after ? tell the truth !

Posted by starsearcher on Nov-12-2004 03:30:

Hmmmm well in light of the situation I think i won't be making the double header after all. It appears that the Toronto show for ONCE will be finally better than the one in Montreal. Add to it that I have exams at the time, I think I'll just do Toronto this time around. See you in Montreal another time perhaps

Posted by Vermz on Nov-12-2004 03:44:

I will buy a bunch of tickets this week end, im going for sure...reduce for marco carola is sexy too

Posted by Kendo on Nov-12-2004 04:30:

I think the crowd is targetted more to clubbers and people that know the name "Tiesto" but nothing about his music and will go just because he's the #1 DJ in the world. I'm sure people from the forums and afterhour people will also go but it's just not the big rave type atmosphere I wanted. I hate it when all the clubbers come out to big nights like Infected and just stand around looking cool. I go to dance.

Posted by ZinG on Nov-12-2004 05:03:

CEPSUM can host one of the best medium weight venues in Montreal!
Bell Center is for bigger capacity.
But don't expect more than 6000 people to show up for Tiesto in Montreal!

Posted by malek on Nov-12-2004 05:17:

I think its an excellent move to showcase someone like tiesto at these "outrageous" hours.

I've always been in favor of "regular" hours.

I've always been in favor of alcohol available at parties to attract more girls, older people and less junkies.

Expect to see lots of noobs in the place, lots of people will be introduced to EDM that night, EXCELLENT *shakes hands*

That's actually true but there's just one thing i dont understand here:

Tiesto and normal clubbin hours = only attracts clubbers
who r those clubbers really? can we say mostly students?
If yes, then how can a lot of students show up if December 10th is in the middle of the examination period?
Like i know 10 people that would wanna go but cant because of exams...
Anyway, not criticizing, just tryin to understand....
Louis, j't'ai pas oublie man, am gettin the same answer though so far - ** "got exams"

Posted by malek on Nov-12-2004 05:57:

clubbers who don't go to/finished school

Well me and my friends all have exams, but your just gonna take a study break of a few hours, wont change much. It's not like it went through the night and you were wasted the next day.
