im a core whore. and tota whore.

It's funny that I really did join this site to be part of an online community and talk about music...until I pretty much figured out that the Music Discussion forum is just a hive for elitists and people who don't really seem to be so interested in trance music as they are the very concept that they've been listening to Trance for longer than other people. Each thread turns into a huge flamewar on who's really a DJ, and who's not, how Sasha is God because he doesn't trainwreck (not true), how much Trance is dead, how much Oakenfold and Tiesto and Armin suck because they appeal to a larger audience now and the old listeners no longer feel unique, etc...

It's just so useless to argue about such things, and when you're rewarded with post count, people tend to expect too much out of you

I mostly peruse the COR and the Humor/Funny stuff forums because there's a lot less useless argument...or at least, no obligation to truly make a good one

6904 normal - 2188 COR - I don't think im totally addicted here, mainly cos theres some god awful threads i dont bother with, but i think 'loyal' should mean posting over a long time, not just posting for a few months and thinking you're 'loyal'

Posted by itsTrueSonic on Nov-12-2004 17:40:

Total : 1305
Outside COR : 563
in MD : 440

not a good proportion there. there used to be a good proportion, until as of late, when there were not very good topics popping in the MD forum. i sometimes post in the Polls section and New Releases/CD section forum.

but as of late, i have definately been a COR Whore. here are the statistics from the last three months :

Total : 999
COR : 671
MD : 268

see how much of a COR whore i have been lately?

I agree with you to some extent. I hate when it's a flamewar where it's all negative and people aren't even backing up their points. However, it's also annoying how much people suck on Tiesto's pee pee over there. I feel obligated to state his pluses and his minuses. But I'm not just ripping him onesidedly and trying to fight people. It's just hard because everyone has a different opinion and people on both sides of every discussion are usually pretty extreme. Not many people over there look at things objectively from the middleground. For example, Tiesto obviously has some strong points, but he's not "God Incarnate" as a dj. He screws up a lot, but he knows how to rock the crowd. That's why discussions go that way though. Sometimes I enjoy debating it, but it requires people having an adult conversation.

And yes Tek, I believe the Tiesto whores have outnumbered the PVD whores, however, Laushimaneee makes up for any lack of ignorance/intolerance amongst the PVD fans

No, she's not ignorant, actually, at all. Or at least not ignorant about PVD and mixing. She just has a closed mind and phrases things in a very offensive manner, most of the time. It's actually fun to debate her, because she knows what she's talking about, and gets worked up when you make good points.

I know. I did initially. Was bustin on her a bit, but biased is exactly the right assessment. Stubborn too. I love arguing with her and Radagast. It's so much fun.

yep. i think a true supporter/fan should never be biased no matter how much the artist fits into your personal taste. acknowledge the bad on the same level as the good. but being biased is somewhat subconscious.. it happens sometimes without you even knowing it because you are a fan of that artist to begin with.. i think being a fair music lover/fan/supporter is really an important thing, learning to admit the truth instead of constantly defending the artist, now im not saying she's guilty of all this, but to a certain degree seemes a bit biased towards you know who..also bashes other artists way more than necessary but thats her business i have no say in that.

I hear you on that. All dj's have pluses and minuses. Some more than others, of course.
