Would reverse psychology work? Talk to the topicstarter about the deep-technological shit from all the possible turntable features like poles, wow&flutter, anti-skating ...and the list goes on.

mayb he will just buy turntables to shut us up ... or go crazy

So the fact that they outlast any other dj turntable does not count for anything?

of course it does. but the simple fact of the matter is that there are better turntables which allow you to do more. i prefer using the vestax because they allow me to do more with my music, and don't limit what i can play. i don't give a shit if my decks are going to be there in 20 years, i care about what they do now. in fact, why would i still want the same boring deck in 20 years? that would be my scenario if i bought techs vestax are of a high enough quality build that they will last for years either way.

i don't see why technics can't include something simple such as an ultrapitch function (that is any use, unlike the m5g) or a WORKING brake adjust (a start adjust would be nice too) that you can use on the fly, and hold the deck at the same price. then i would be happy.

Vestax PDX 2000
Technics SL1200/1210mk2/m3d/mk5/m5g
Numark TTX-1/TT-500
Stanton ST-150 (eh... maybe not)

ALL OF THOSE WILL DO YOU GOOD! NONE OF THEM ARE BAD DECKS!

just to add:

Vestax PDX 2000/2300/2000mk2/2300mk2/2000mk2pro/2300mk2pro
Technics SL1200/1210mk2/m3d/mk5/m5g
Numark TTX-1/TT-500
Stanton ST-150 (eh... maybe not)

don't know if the 1000 exists, nothing in google. if it did it was probably while i was in nappies

yup, the pdx2300 mk2 pro IS the best deck on the market IMO

lookie here: http://www.decks.co.uk/products/dec.../pdx2300mk2_pro

and the fact the 1210 is over 20 years old means the price should be lower there r beter decks out there that u can buy i think the ttx-1 is a better deck myself. If the only defense u can come up with for the 1210 is it will outlast other decks then it really doesnt say much for the 1210. I personally couldnt care less if it will last me the next 15 year no matter what deck u buy u will probably end up buying something new in 5-10 years time anyway and im sure other decks last at least 5 year

If getting Techs though, look around for used ones, you can get some sweet deals, I paid about 560US for both mine and I got Ortofon Concorde Scratch cart with one of them, and there both in awesome condition.
