You just said that booking him breaks with the entire history of VNs. Isn't that trying something new? And I doubt that booking Ferry will guarantee a filled up venue in Germany. If that was what Paul wanted he could have invited some popular techno DJs instead, that's much safer.
And Paul has played the Flashover Mix of It's Time as well.

and all of those are just wanky trance. PvD plays a hell of a lot of wanky trance, but hes not played a crap corsten 'electro' trance record (ferrys words i think, not mine) apart from punk, which i acknowledge is very strange.

when has he played that?
'popular techno djs' are not guaranteed to sell out a night in berlin really... Not unless its a full lineup like that. & having PvD on means it will not be.
so its hardly safer.
again you doubt what i know is true, so im not sure where youre going with it.

What does that have to do with anything?
A good sign of someone not having a clue what they're talking about is when they have to bring up some pointless remark to keep the debate going.

well because it seems like pvd plays more ferrys tracks then vice versa which means pvd respects the work of corsten and that alone makes ferry relevant and appropriate as a guest on vandit night which laushina continues to say it aint so..lol

pvd does not respect ferry as an artist, this is a FACT
neither does he 'respect' dj sammy
but yet he still played sunlight
granted its odd, but as you can see it makes no difference

But he's only ever played a handful of Ferry tracks, most of which have been remixes. So your point doesn't really stand does it.

well, if you dont respect soemoen as an artist but yet you still play their tracks, thats really fucking shady. ive lost some respect for pvd by that comment youve made. and i doubt he played the original version of sunlight.

i think he did...
i think its fucking strange as well, but its the truth of the matter.
to offer up some kind of 'defense' he went on about saying that...
''whilst ferry corsten is cheesy, sometimes playing a cheesy track can be OK in a different context - if youre playing a track like that but you surround it with things that are very different, then it becomes very different''
im paraphrasing heavily, it doesnt make much sense anyway, but you can see kind of what he means.

Can't a night have two artists that done play the EXACT SAME STYLE OF TRANCE!?!?! ITS CALLED DIVERSITY PEOPLE!!!!! |
sasha, nick warren, timo maas, moguai & sander kleinenberg dont exactly play the same records as pvd, but put them on and i wont complain.
I think youve missed the point.

i aint doubting you on what pvd said, just personally i cant agree with his logic. i take what i play and represent seriously and i would not shit on an artist then play his track for the sake of my set. thats selfish and contradictory.

Man you must really hate Ferry Corsten, what did he do to you?

no i cant agree with it either
and as for the guy who says it doesnt matter - clearly it does matter. I probably would have gone if there was a decent guest.

but clearly, him not being a 'decent' guest is your personal preference.

Vandit Night with John 00 Fleming.
Now THAT would fucking rock

but theres never been a guest dj quite like him? why the sudden change... usually you are 'safe' with vandit night guests. The same kind of people that like sasha & timo maas, arent generally going to like ferry corsten.

that statement right there has nothing to do with him being decent or not tho, yeah i agree its something out of the ordinary and it seems like youre not a fan of corsten's style but that doesnt mean its a bad thing for everyone is it ? like i said before, if pvd plays good # of corsten's tracks i dont see why him being a guest is weird/a bad thing. but like you said if pvd doensnt respect ferry as an artist, ferry playing on vandit night is pretty retarded unless he had nothing to do with booking whatsoever which i highly doubt.

I have another method of doing something like that.....
*bump*
And yes, I really have nothing to say except for the fact that this particular party interests me enough to be depressed about not having enough money to go.

Laushinameee,
1. How do you know Paul doesn't respect Ferry? Do you have any proof or rationale. Please explain.
2..Why do you think Ferry is shit? Was he always shit? Please explain in detail.
3..What other DJ's should be considered? Why.
I am not trying to prove a point but rather understand your point of view.
FYI
I don't like Ferry Corsten or that bullshit elctro-robotic sound he pushes. Ferry Costen is a popular name amongst trance Noobs but his sound is what the Brits refer to as 'Wank'

yeh he used to slate him all the time, not recently - but in 98/99 when ferry corsten / gouryella were all over the place...
In the book Adventures On The Wheels of Steel there is a whole chapter about PvD, were the author follows him around for a day. He has constant digs at corsten on that, and hes done it in a lot of interviews both directly & to his style of music...
imo corsten is shit because he took all the worst bits of the fallout of 'trance' in 97 - the more obvious things, and started to recycle them into really shit over the top tracks - and these tracks have become the definition of 'trance' for a whole generation now, which is sad.
nowadays he has lost the plot in a totally different way. Any dj who claims that things like 'right of way' and 'its time' are 'electro' needs shooting
hes a joke now, probably more than he used to be.
dont understand your last question... do you mean considered for vandit nights?
