So, exactly what is the problem with playing riped/illegal/etc. trax? Around here I know dozens of DJs and they all do it, lol. I guess it's a good thing to live in America, or actually a real city. Furthermore, do you know how many tracks are available online, for free OR for a fee that have a diminished sound quality? Guess not.

what program did you use to mix this

i don't use progs and it wasn't a recon. I use Denon 2600fs dual cd players. now if someone still wants to bitch it's illegal for me to mix mp3s/digital downloads/cd-rs with the digital tts i purchased for a shit load of money you can all go fuck yourselves.

It's morally wrong and people that claim to be DJ's should never do it. DJ's are the heart of dance music and when they begin to believe its ok to rip off producers and labels you begin to destroy something which too so much time and effort to build.

Don't ever come onto a forum or a club and pretend your a DJ wanting to share a mix you did with illegal MP3's. This is a disgrace for DJ's and the artists that made the music.

im hardly in any release group, gimp. and in case you're unbeknownst, i'm pretty much the selfsame age as you prick.

Dave Pussy...who died and made you a god that you should tell us what do to or not and what is morally wrong or isn't. you're a fucking n00b and not much more...moreover, you know S-H-I-T about good EDM so shut your pie hole and be gone.

Posted by omii on Dec-03-2004 18:01:

Yes, it's a genre that is based on sharing the music to the world, a'la DJs spinning shit other then their own. Spinning someone's music, which in turn promotes the producer, can't be "moraly" wrong. On a different note, Morally? I don't see Church groups protesting "illegal" mp3's

WTF?! first off, what do you mean by "big words?" that has to be the most pitiful phrase if i've ever seen one. further, i'm not "trying" anything...and no i'm not aplz, although he's about here too...hopefully he'll come around and put you all to shame.

The people that are DJ's buy the records; unless youre big dick and artists send you shit for free. A DJ promotes the music and hopefully people will want to buy that record or more of that artists work. Notice the act of purchase NOT download. Producers and labels need to make money to live. This is not a fuckin charity campaign to feed 15 yr. old pimply face kids.

Obviously you don't understand what it means to be a DJ nor the struggles of dance music. When you become a DJ you in essence become apart of the music. It now becomes your responsibility to help shape and build it. Promoting illegal MP3's is not the action that real DJ's would favor. IT destroys the longevity of the artists, the labels, and eventually the DJ.

The morality is supporting and helping to build the artist and the music which you, as the DJ, are using. Ripping people off and using them for your own gain is immoral.

Dance music is something very special. The people, that artists, etc that make good music you enjoy should be rewarded for the effort they did. This is their occupation and as such it should be no surprise that they need to make $$ to live. If you are a DJ you should respect and embrace the people the music you use to advance your own career.

I have lost respect not only in you but also AlphaStarred for not understanding this vital principle which the music community shares.

I understand perfectly what you are saying abut you missed quiet a few points. For example, if/when a DJ spins some wicked traxx and promotes them to the public, how is everyone going to d/l it? Believe it or not only a fraction of people actually have a thorough knowledge of the web and much less know IRC, Torrent, DC++, etc. and most EDM isn't going to be found on Kazaa or Imesh, save for some mainstream b.s.

I am not judging the music you play you fuckin dickless peice of shit. Nor am I saying what is good EDM.

I am saying that if you want to be a DJ and/or want to make mixes don't do illegal shit that will ruin the artists and the music industry.

actually i know for fact that is 2 different ppl.

seriously though why does this topic of mp3 mixing get braught up in someones mix..
Make your point and move on, EVERYONE

I dont care if you want to argue anything under the sun, but berating someone in their post for a mix, is kinda lame.
Take the mix for what it is, like it or dont. But take the flame wars elsewhere.

Thats like me starting a cd vs vinyl flame in a mix thread. or mixer war.

let it go.

Posted by TranceNutta on Dec-03-2004 18:36:

once again penis boy u r wrong, im beginning to think a piece of toast has a higher IQ than u, it is not illegal to download mp3s off the internet, there even setting up entire websites where u can dl them if u pay, it is only illegal if u distribute them over the internet which is against the 1998 resolution set up to stop piracy.

i suggest u go goole it or sum shit, and quit making yourself look like a bigger idiot

and once again, my schlong is tingling for your moms 4head
