I'm sick of hearing how players shouldn't be charging the stands.
The real rule should be fans shouldn't throw shit at players. Maybe now asshole fans will think twice about doing shit like that again.

Artest should be kicked out of the NBA, he's a punk. It's not right to go into the stands, but I must admit I'm on the players side when the fans get unruly and out of line. I'm glad Artest was in the middle of it so hopefully he'll leave the NBA and go pursue his rapping career.

I find this whole thing hilarious.

but here's the thing .. we said the same thing about rasheed wallace and his dumba*s technical fouls years ago when he was with portland. but the BIG difference between artest and wallace is that artest is actually leading the team in points in some games, while o'neal leads in other games..

wallace never set himself as the primary man in portland.. as much as we hate artest (i hate the guy too) .. just let him play .. but whatever wallace did to be who he is right now, i hope artest gets the same psychological treatment .. because all of a sudden, rasheed is a good angel boy who is not getting into any trouble...

Then I really hope that fan has some bad, high seats, or they're really fucking strong. 6'8 is a lot of man to fight. Yea I believe players have no place in the stands (that wasn't the problem), but no one can justify a fan tossing a beer at Artest.

I think Artest got what he deserved and then him and his two swinging buddies will be criminally charged and sued. It shows what happens, when tempers flare and how the NBA does not take crap. There goes the Pacers' hopes in 2004-05

Wallace can't even compare to Artest. Artest is simply a ticking time bomb, period. And who cares how good they are? If Michael Jordan did the same thing, I'd want the same consequences for him, it's just assinine to jump into the stands. I agree with the help that Wallace received should be given to Artest, because Wallace has done a complete 180. I honestly hope Artest never plays again and just pursues his "rap career" because he's a joke and has proven his agenda rests outside the game.

6 games for Wallace is pure bullshit... he should have gotten a whole hell of a lot more.

In fact, I think all 4 players should have been given the same suspension. Artest got hosed.

wallace started a regular nba fight which generally gets around that amount of games of suspension...
what took the situation out of control was artest, jackson and o'neal jumping into the stands...wallace had nothing to do with the second part of the brawl therefore i think he got what he deserved...
i do think the other ones were over punished...

Watch the video... Wallace threw a towel or shirt at Artest, and that's what preciptated the fan's throwing of the cup.

Funny shit...totally uncalled for and the players must restrain themselves from entering the stands...no matter how retarded the fans are. It is funny to note how wussy the fans got after they threw their beverages then ran away like the little sissies they are.

Alas...I think the suspensions are just...though like in most cases there may be an adjustment made on the numbers after the unions grieve it...but it will still = a lot of games and $$$.

The city should punish not only the players but EVERY fan that they can identify from video that had involvement (outside of restraining) in the situation...i.e. threw their beer or punches.

I also belive that the NBA should have "fined" the Pistons organization by not allowing any fans for the next 5 or so home games (similar to that european soccer team that had to play 3 games in an empty stadium)...or at minimum....closing the first 20 rows of seats of the arena for that period of time....just to say "hey, we don't put up with dipshit fans"

anyway...funny stuff...as stern put it "the actions of the players/fans is a mirror of our current society"

BTW:did anyone notice that Rasheed Wallace was not involved?...weird...

a just punishment for all the players .. yeah ben wallace had 6 games, but it was just for "the shove + the towel throw" .. that's worth six games ..

artest's punishment, although some may seem unfair, is just to me.. the extent of his outrage to the fan matches the same outrage spreewell had on p.j. carlisimo almost ten years ago .. who remembers that ?? the choking incident ..

but instead of comparisons of artest to rasheed wallace, let's turn the page a little further behind, and compare artest to dennis rodman .. that man is a complete joke.. the only thing he knew how to do was rebound, which in my case was one of the best all-time ... he knew where to box-out the player .. where to stand .. when to jump .. he timed everything perfectly .. his number of suspensions and outrages matches the same as artest's suspensions and outrages ..

however, has dennis rodman ever been suspended for a full season with his antics?? how long did he get when he kicked the cameraman in the groin? he was psychotic and a bully, and his basketball career should have ended sooner than it should have .. at least artest has some talent to back himself up ..

David Stern just proved again that he is the worst commisioner in the world.

Big Ben the pole shiner, should have gotten at least 20 games. He started the whole thing. He threw shit at Artest and incensed the fans after he threw stuff, he was waving his arms up and down. And I saw an interview where he claims he did nothing wrong. Next time I go to a game, I'm gonna go up all nice, and throw my full beer right in his grill. See how he feels. I even think Detroit is better off without him, because he is the worst player in the NBA.

Jermaine should not have gotten 25 games. Fat dudes were on the court, the are fair game. The Union is gonna have a field day with this one.

Indiana will still go further than the Pistons in the playoffs. Indiana will make the playoffs with their full complement of players and they are way deeper than Detroit and any other team in the east.

Fuck David Stern, I have said it for 10 years, he is what is wrong with the NBA. No wonder nobody goes to games anymore. He ruined it with expansion, notice that when he took over the scores became 80-60....ooo exciting. I will throw a party the day he quits.
