get direct deposite you get paid at least 2 days before most ppl that get checks usualy

no, i wanted a bag of weed! hahah so i can have room for all the good food!

no but seriously, i just went to visit my sister and new nephew this weekend and spent a lot of money so i'm broke i wanted to buy a nice bottle of champagne and all the groceries for Thanksgiving dinner...it's just gonna be me and my bf. Oh well. i guess he'll have to buy everything and i'll just pay him back. i hate that.

I think your boyfriend can probably handle paying for Thanksgiving dinner without you having to pay him back. It really isn't that expensive. Just pay him without money, wink wink!

I do have direct deposit. My firm is signed up with a group called Oasis, so that they can have all the same benefits that a larger company would have, so it's all through them. Anyway, our checks usually go in on Thursday at midnight, technically Friday morning (our pay day), but now that its a holiday, it wont clear until Friday at midnight...at least with MY bank. A coworker said that she had her money in her account as normal on Friday morning, last time our pay day was on a holiday (veterans day). I guess its just my bank. But I still think they should have made it so that we have our money on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Well, considering that in the last year, most of my extended family has either died, or turned out to be passive aggressives (mother's side of the family) or petty assholes who would use their relationships with me as bait in some stupid squabble with another family member and I don't much care to speak to again (father), I'm gonna be spending thanksgiving sitting at home, chilling with some microwavable food, playing some CS:S and blasting tunes until 5am. It'll be the best thanksgiving ever (I hate formal family dinners)

Thanksgiving will be hosted at my house this year. Its weird because usually we go to our relatives' house in Maryland.

So i'm thinking if I should start drinking my bottle of vodka I brought back from school with me when I wake up, and see how thanksgiving will be completely smashed and talking to all my relatives?

Pass the gravy and the cranberry sauce...Thank you.

I may be thousands of miles away, but my heart is still in the states.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

So....for all of us who don't live in the USA, can someone explain what you are "giving thanks" for exactly?

I have never understood that holiday, particularly because Canada has a different one.

Well, Native Americans gave the Pilgrims corn, lots of seashells and beads, turkey...and smoked chocolate. In return they recieved disease and slaughter! Thanks Indians!

Don't forget the part that we took all the land and all then declared that the next day all the stores open rediculously early and we line up outside @330am just before they open in hopes of scoring on a dvd player for under 20 bucks or a computer for $199, or a big screen tv for under a grand, or a dolby surround sound system for 67 bucks...

...you know the drill...
